Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis framing pemberitaan Tempo.co mengenai kasus kematian Affan Kurniawan menggunakan model analisis framing Pan dan Kosicki. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan objek penelitian berupa enam berita Tempo.co yang diterbitkan pada Agustus–September 2025. Analisis dilakukan melalui empat struktur framing, yaitu sintaksis, skrip, tematik, dan retoris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tempo.co secara konsisten membingkai kasus kematian Affan Kurniawan sebagai persoalan akuntabilitas dan transparansi institusi kepolisian. Pemberitaan menampilkan Affan sebagai warga sipil yang tidak terlibat dalam demonstrasi, sementara kepolisian diposisikan sebagai institusi yang harus mempertanggungjawabkan tindakan anggotanya melalui proses pemeriksaan etik, hukum, dan keterbukaan informasi kepada publik. Kata kunci: analisis framing, Pan dan Kosicki, Tempo.co, Affan Kurniawan. ***** This study aims to analyze Tempo.co's framing of news coverage regarding the death of Affan Kurniawan using Pan and Kosicki's framing analysis model. This research employed a qualitative approach with six Tempo.co news articles published between August and September 2025 as the research object. The analysis was conducted through four framing structures: syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical. The findings show that Tempo.co consistently framed Affan Kurniawan's death as an issue of police accountability and institutional transparency. The news portrayed Affan as a civilian who was not involved in the demonstration, while the police were positioned as an institution responsible for the actions of its officers through ethical proceedings, legal processes, and public transparency.
