Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil penilaian kualitas dan estetika produk hasil rok hasil upcycling celana denim. Penelitian ini menggunaka metode penelitian kuantitatif deskrptif dengan desain penelitian pre-experimental design, one shot case study. Penelitian ini menghasil kan 5 produk rok hasil upcycling celana denim, dengan pendekatan desain mengacu pada trend forecasting 2025/2026 Neo Nostalgia, Retrospective. Penilaian produk pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner berisi 20 pertanyaan yang mengacu pada teori kualitas serta teori prinsip desain dengan menggunakan skala rating. Hasil penilaian kelima produk mendapatkan nilai 85,5% sehingga masuk ke dalam kategori sangat baik. Pada aspek kualitas dengan dimensi kualitas bentuk (form), fitur (feature), keandalan (reliability), kesesuaian kualitas (conformance quality), dan gaya (style) memperoleh nilai 88% sehingga masuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Hasil penilaian aspek tertinggi diperoleh dimensi kualitas fitur, diikuti dengan dimensi kualitas keandalan, bentuk, kesesuaian kualitas, dan gaya. Pada penilaian aspek prinsip desain berdasarkan dengan sub indikator prinsip desain harmoni (unity), keseimbangan (balance), dan penekanan (emphasis) memperoleh nilai 83,6% sehingga memasuki kategori sangat baik. Hasil penilaian aspek prinsip desain dengan tertinggi diperoleh prinsip desain penekanan, diikuti dengan prinsip desain harmoni, dan prinsip desain keseimbangan. Hasil secara keseluruhan menunjukan upcycling mengubah celana denim menjadi produk rok dapat menghasilkan produk dengan kualitas dan penerapan prinsip desain yang baik, serta dapat menjadi cara untuk memperpanjang masa pakai denim bekas. **** This study aims to evaluate the quality and aesthetics of skirts produced by upcycling denim pants. It employs a descriptive quantitative research method using a pre-experimental "one-shot case study" design. The study produced five skirt products from upcycled denim pants, utilizing a design approach based on the 2025/2026 "Neo Nostalgia" and "Retrospective" trend forecasts. Product assessment was conducted via a 20-question questionnaire based on quality and design principle theories, utilizing a rating scale. The overall assessment score for the five products was 85.5%, placing them in the "very good" category. Regarding quality aspects—specifically the dimensions of form, features, reliability, conformance quality, and style—the products achieved a score of 88%, also falling into the "very good" category. The highest-scoring quality dimension was "features," followed by reliability, form, conformance quality, and style. In the assessment of design principles—specifically the sub-indicators of harmony (unity), balance, and emphasis—the products scored 83.6%, placing them in the "very good" category. Among the design principles, "emphasis" received the highest score, followed by harmony and balance. Overall, the results demonstrate that upcycling denim pants into skirts can yield products of high quality that effectively apply design principles, while also serving as a method to extend the lifespan of used denim.
