Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran self-compassion dalam memediasi pengaruh stres pengasuhan terhadap keterlibatan ayah yang memiliki anak usia prasekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Partisipan berjumlah 111 ayah yang memiliki anak berusia 2–6 tahun dan tinggal bersama anak, dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei daring menggunakan tiga instrumen, yaitu Inventory of Father Involvement (IFI) untuk mengukur keterlibatan ayah, Parenting Stress Scale (PSS) untuk mengukur stres pengasuhan, dan Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) untuk mengukur self-compassion. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis process macro model empat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis nol diterima, yang berarti self-compassion tidak berperan sebagai mediator dalam pengaruh stres pengasuhan terhadap keterlibatan ayah. Dengan demikian, pengaruh stres pengasuhan terhadap keterlibatan ayah terjadi secara langsung, tanpa melalui self-compassion, sehingga tekanan pengasuhan merupakan faktor yang secara langsung menurunkan keterlibatan ayah dalam pengasuhan anak usia prasekolah. **** This study aims to examine the mediating role of self-compassion in the effect of parenting stress on father involvement among fathers with preschool-aged children. This study used a quantitative approach with a non-experimental method. Participants consisted of 111 fathers who had children aged 2–6 years and lived with their children, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through an online survey using three instruments: the Inventory of Father Involvement (IFI) to measure father involvement, the Parenting Stress Scale (PSS) to measure parenting stress, and the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) to measure self-compassion. Data were analyzed using mediation regression analysis. The results showed that the null hypothesis was accepted, indicating that self-compassion did not mediate the effect of parenting stress on father involvement. These findings indicate that the effect of parenting stress on father involvement occurs directly rather than through self-compassion, suggesting that parenting stress is a factor that directly reduces father involvement in the care of preschool-aged children.
