Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between pay satisfaction and turnover intention among Generation Z employees. This study employed a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 260 Generation Z employees in Indonesia aged 18–29 years. Turnover intention was measured using an instrument by Bothma and Roodt (2013), which had been adapted into Indonesian by Ridwan, Deasyanti, and Suryaratri (2024), while pay satisfaction was measured using an instrument by Heneman and Schwab (1985), which had been adapted into Indonesian by A’yuninnisa and Saptoto (2015). The data analysis conducted in this study consisted of assumption and hypothesis testing. Hypothesis testing was performed using Spearman’s correlation analysis. The results of this study found that there was no significant relationship between pay satisfaction and turnover intention (p = 0.118). Since the results of the assumption tests did not meet the parametric assumptions, the hypothesis testing could not be accepted. Therefore, pay satisfaction is not related to turnover intention among Generation Z employees.
