Abstract

***** Bullying is a complex relational phenomenon that remains a serious issue in Indonesia. This study aims to understand the lived experience of the dynamics and interactions that occur within the ecological system of bullying perpetrators, using Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory (microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem, and chronosystem) as its analytical lens. Participants were selected who acknowledged having engaged in bullying within peer relationships, with data triangulated through in-depth interviews with each participant's significant other. The findings indicate that the bullying behavior of the three participants resulted from dynamic and layered interactions across ecological systems The study further identified three complementary psychological mechanisms, Social Learning Theory, conformity to group pressure, and meaning-making that explain how bullying behavior is learned, sustained, and potentially transformed.
