Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan fondasi penting pendidikan abad ke-21. Namun, berbagai penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata murid SMA di Indonesia masih memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis yang rendah, termasuk dalam pembelajaran bioteknologi. Model Case Based Learning (CBL) dan Elektronik Lembar Kerja Murid (E-LKM) dinilai mampu menjadi solusi inovatif untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan E-LKM berbasis CBL pada materi bioteknologi yang valid, layak, dan praktis untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis murid SMA kelas X. Metode yang digunakan adalah Educational Design Research yang mengacu pada model Hannafin & Peck (1988) dengan modifikasi one group pretest-posttest design pada tahap implementasi, melalui tiga tahap: analisis kebutuhan, desain, dan pengembangan/implementasi. Validasi dilakukan oleh tiga ahli (materi, bahasa, dan media), uji praktikalitas oleh dua guru biologi, serta kelompok kecil dan implementasi pada kelompok besar. Hasil menunjukkan E-LKM dinyatakan sangat valid, layak, dan sangat praktis. Uji paired samples t-test menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara pretest dan posttest. Nilai N-Gain didapatkan dalam kategori sedang, yang membuktikan E-LKM efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, terutama pada aspek pengambilan keputusan dan klarifikasi dasar. E-LKM berbasis CBL layak dan efektif digunakan, namun latihan berkelanjutan diperlukan untuk mencapai peningkatan yang lebih optimal. However, various studies indicate that, on average, high school students in Indonesia still have low critical thinking skills, including in biotechnology education. The Case-Based Learning (CBL) model and Electronic Student Worksheets (E-LKM) are considered to be innovative solutions to address this issue. This study aims to develop a CBL-based E-LKM on biotechnology material that is valid, feasible, and practical to enhance the critical thinking skills of 10th-grade high school students. The method used is Educational Design Research, which follows the model by Hannafin & Peck (1988) with a modified one-group pretest-posttest design during the implementation phase, conducted through three stages: needs analysis, design, and development/implementation. Validation was conducted by three experts (in content, language, and media), a practicality test was performed by two biology teachers, and the E-LKM was tested in small groups before being implemented with a large group. The results showed that the E-LKM was deemed highly valid, feasible, and highly practical. A paired samples t-test revealed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The N-Gain values fell within the moderate range, indicating that the E-LKM is effective at enhancing critical thinking skills, particularly in decision-making and basic clarification. The CBL-based E-LKM is feasible and effective; however, ongoing practice is necessary to achieve greater improvements. Keywords: Biotechnology, Case Based Learning, Critical thinking skills, E-LKM.
