Abstract

Kesepian emosional merupakan kondisi ketika seseorang merasa tidak memiliki hubungan emosional yang bermakna meskipun berada di tengah lingkungan sosial. Karya ini bertujuan memvisualisasikan pengalaman tersebut melalui metafora Paus 52 Hz sebagai simbol keterasingan sekaligus proses rekoneksi emosional. Metode yang digunakan adalah practice-led research dengan tahapan eksplorasi, perancangan, perwujudan, dan evaluasi karya. Hasil penciptaan berupa karya seni lukis mixed media berjudul “Merekah” yang menggunakan cat akrilik, benang rajut, dan kain tule pada dua bidang kanvas berbentuk lingkaran. Karya ini merepresentasikan perjalanan dari kesepian emosional menuju penerimaan diri dan keterhubungan kembali melalui simbol, komposisi visual, serta penggunaan material. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa karya mampu menyampaikan konsep dan makna yang sesuai dengan tujuan penciptaan. **** Emotional loneliness is a condition in which individuals feel disconnected despite being surrounded by other people. This artwork aims to visualize emotional loneliness through the metaphor of the 52 Hz whale as a symbol of isolation and emotional reconnection. The study employed a practice-led research approach consisting of exploration, design, artwork realization, and evaluation. The result is a mixed media painting entitled “Merekah”, created using acrylic paint, yarn, and tulle fabric on two circular canvases. The artwork represents the journey from emotional loneliness toward self-acceptance and emotional reconnection through symbolic imagery, visual composition, and material exploration. The validation results indicate that the artwork successfully communicates the intended concept and artistic message.
