Abstract

Individu dewasa madya penyandang disabilitas netra menghadapi tantangan psikologis yang kompleks akibat keterbatasan fungsi penglihatan yang berdampak pada pemenuhan tugas perkembangan, relasi sosial, kemandirian, dan pemaknaan hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami secara mendalam gambaran kesejahteraan psikologis yang dihayati oleh penyandang disabilitas netra dewasa madya di Kota Bandung, mencakup keenam dimensi kesejahteraan psikologis menurut Ryff (1989) serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi yang diintegrasikan dengan studi kasus intrinsik. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas tiga individu penyandang disabilitas netra dewasa madya sebagai subjek utama, beserta tiga significant other. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga subjek mampu menghayati keenam dimensi kesejahteraan psikologis, yaitu penerimaan diri, hubungan positif dengan orang lain, kemandirian, penguasaan lingkungan, tujuan hidup, dan pertumbuhan pribadi, meskipun dengan penghayatan dan tantangan yang berbeda antarindividu. Faktor penghambat yang ditemukan meliputi stigma sosial dan penurunan kondisi fisik, sementara faktor pelindung meliputi dukungan keluarga, pemanfaatan teknologi adaptif, dan keterlibatan dalam komunitas disabilitas. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan dukungan psikologis dan program pemberdayaan yang lebih personal dan responsif bagi penyandang disabilitas netra dewasa madya. ***** Middle-aged adults with visual impairment face complex psychological challenges due to visual limitations that affect the fulfillment of developmental tasks, social relationships, independence, and meaning-making in life. This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the psychological well-being experienced by middle-aged adults with visual impairment in Bandung City, covering the six dimensions of psychological well-being according to Ryff (1989) and the factors that influence them. This study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design integrated with an intrinsic case study. The research subjects consisted of three middle-aged individuals with visual impairment as main subjects, along with three significant others. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and observation. The results show that the three subjects were able to experience all six dimensions of psychological well-being, namely self-acceptance, positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth, although with varying depth and challenges across individuals. Inhibiting factors identified include social stigma and declining physical condition, while protective factors include family support, use of adaptive technology, and involvement in disability communities. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more individualized psychological support and empowerment programs for middle-aged adults with visual impairment.
