Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas V SD di Kecamatan Ciracas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain PretestPosttest Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD di Kecamatan Ciracas, sedangkan sampel penelitian terdiri atas siswa kelas eksperimen yang diberikan perlakuan menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan siswa kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes keterampilan menulis puisi yang disusun berdasarkan indikator penilaian menulis puisi, meliputi kesesuaian tema, pemilihan diksi, penggunaan imajinasi, keterpaduan makna, dan kreativitas dalam penyusunan puisi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan uji statistik Independent Sample tTest diperoleh bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara keterampilan menulis puisi siswa yang belajar menggunakan model Discovery Learning dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model Problem Based Learning. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Discovery Learning memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas V SD. Melalui tahapan stimulation, problem statement, data collection, data processing, verification, dan generalization, siswa lebih aktif dalam menemukan ide, mengembangkan imajinasi, serta mengekspresikan gagasan secara kreatif dalam bentuk puisi. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas V SD di Kecamatan Ciracas, serta menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Kata Kunci: Discovery Learning, Keterampilan Menulis Puisi, Bahasa Indonesia, Sekolah Dasar ***** This study aimed to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on the poetry writing skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in Ciracas District. This research employed an experimental method using a Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this study consisted of all fifth-grade elementary school students in Ciracas District, while the sample included an experimental class taught using the Discovery Learning model and a control class taught using the Problem Based Learning model. The instrument used in this study was a poetry writing skills test developed based on poetry assessment indicators, including theme suitability, diction selection, use of imagination, coherence of meaning, and creativity in poetry composition. Based on the results of data analysis using the Independent Samples t-Test, it was found that there was a significant difference between the poetry writing skills of students who learned through the Discovery Learning model and those who learned through the Problem Based Learning model. The findings indicated that the Discovery Learning model had a positive effect on improving students’ poetry writing skills. Through the stages of stimulation, problem statement, data collection, data processing, verification, and generalization, students became more active in generating ideas, developing imagination, and expressing their thoughts creatively in the form of poetry. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model has a positive and significant effect on the poetry writing skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in Ciracas District and demonstrates better results than the Problem Based Learning model.
