Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang Incinerator skala komunitas yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna melalui penerapan metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD) dan VDI 2221. Permasalahan utama dalam pengelolaan sampah di tingkat komunitas adalah keterbatasan sarana pemusnahan sampah yang memiliki kapasitas memadai, emisi yang rendah, efisiensi pembakaran, serta kemudahan dalam pengoperasian dan perawatan. Metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD) digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menerjemahkan kebutuhan pengguna ke dalam karakteristik teknis melalui penyusunan House of Quality (HoQ), sedangkan metode VDI 2221 digunakan sebagai pendekatan sistematis dalam proses perancangan yang meliputi Task Clarification, Conceptual Design, Embodiment Design, dan Detail Design. Hasil analisis QFD menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik teknis yang menjadi prioritas utama meliputi sistem pembakaran Twin chamber, temperatur operasi 800–1000°C, sistem filtrasi Multi Stage Filter, blower otomatis, dan material baja karbon dengan lapisan fire brick. Karakteristik tersebut kemudian diimplementasikan ke dalam rancangan Incinerator menggunakan perangkat lunak SolidWorks, sehingga menghasilkan model tiga dimensi, gambar teknik, spesifikasi teknis, serta hasil simulasi rekayasa sebagai dasar pengembangan prototipe. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD) dan VDI 2221 menghasilkan rancangan Incinerator skala komunitas yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna dan dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam pengembangan produk pada penelitian selanjutnya.***** This research aims to design a community-scale Incinerator that meets user requirements by applying the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and VDI 2221 methods. The main challenge in community waste management is the limited availability of waste disposal facilities with adequate capacity, low emissions, efficient combustion, and ease of operation and maintenance. The Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method was employed to identify and translate user requirements into technical characteristics through the development of the House of Quality (HoQ), while the VDI 2221 method was applied as a systematic product design approach consisting of the stages of Task Clarification, Conceptual Design, Embodiment Design, and Detail Design. The QFD analysis indicated that the highest-priority technical characteristics include a Twin chamber combustion system, an operating temperature of 800–1000°C, a Multi-Stage Filter system, an automatic blower, and carbon steel with a fire brick lining as the construction material. These technical characteristics were then implemented into the Incinerator design using SolidWorks software, resulting in a three-dimensional model, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and engineering simulation results that serve as the basis for future prototype development. Therefore, the application of the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and VDI 2221 methods produced a community-scale Incinerator design that meets user requirements and can serve as a reference for future product development.
