Abstract

Masa dewasa awal merupakan fase krusial dalam pembentukan hubungan interpersonal, namun bagi individu dengan pola avoidant attachment (kelekatan menghindar), kedekatan emosional justru dipandang sebagai ancaman terhadap kemandirian dan kontrol diri. Fenomena ini semakin relevan di era modern, di mana ruang pribadi sering digunakan sebagai mekanisme pertahanan (coping mechanism) untuk menghindari kerentanan dan luka batin akibat trauma masa lalu. Penciptaan karya seni ini bertujuan untuk memvisualisasikan kompleksitas dinamika psikologis avoidant attachment dan kebutuhan akan ruang pribadi melalui media seni tekstil kontemporer. Metode penciptaan ini didasarkan pada pengamatan terhadap fenomena sosial tentang jarak emosional dalam hubungan. Seni teksil dipilih sebagai medium utama karena kemampuannya dalam mengolah material dan interaksi yang dapat merefleksikan perasaan "hadir secara fisik namun terputus secara emosional." Melalui penggunaan elemen visual yang transparan dan penataan yang reflektif, karya ini berupaya menjembatani kesenjangan representasi tema psikologis dalam seni rupa yang selama ini masih bersifat permukaan. Hasil dari penciptaan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sarana edukasi dan empati sosial terkait isu kesehatan mental, sekaligus membuka dialog kritis mengenai pentingnya memahami batasan emosional dalam kehidupan modern. Kata Kunci: Avoidant Attachment, Ruang Pribadi, Seni Tekstil Kontemporer, Kedekatan Emosional, Dewasa Awal. ********** Early adulthood serves as a crucial phase in developing interpersonal relationships; however, for individuals with an avoidant attachment style, emotional intimacy is often perceived as a threat to independence and self-control. This phenomenon has become increasingly relevant in the modern era, where personal space is frequently utilized as a psychological defense mechanism to avoid vulnerability and the emotional pain resulting from past traumas. This artistic creation aims to visualize the complex psychological dynamics of avoidant attachment and the necessity of personal space through the medium of contemporary textile art The creative method is rooted in the artist’s personal reflections and observations of social phenomena regarding emotional distance within relationships. Textile art was selected as the primary medium due to its capacity to materials and sensory interactions to represent the feeling of being "physically present yet emotionally disconnected." By employing transparent visual elements and reflective spatial arrangements, this work seeks to bridge the gap in the reflection of psychological themes within the fine arts, which often remain superficial. The resulting creation is intended to serve as a medium for education and social empathy regarding mental health issues, while simultaneously opening a critical dialogue on the importance of understanding emotional boundaries in modern life.
