Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) berbantuan media kartu masalah kontekstual terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP Negeri 1 Bojonggede. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan rancangan posttest-only control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling sehingga terpilih kelas VII-J sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-G sebagai kelas kontrol, dengan masing-masing kelas berjumlah 40 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa 2 butir soal uraian pada materi perbandingan yang telah memenuhi kriteria validitas dan reliabilitas. Kelas eksperimen mendapat perlakuan berupa penerapan model pembelajaran TPS berbantuan media kartu masalah kontekstual, sedangkan kelas kontrol menerapkan model pembelajaran ekspositori. Hasil uji prasyarat menunjukkan bahwa data posttest pada kedua kelas tidak berdistribusi normal berdasarkan uji Liliefors pada taraf signifikansi 5%, sehingga pengujian hipotesis dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan nilai |z_hitung |= 3,23 melebihi |z_tabel |= 1,96 pada taraf signifikansi 5%, sehingga H_0 ditolak. Hal ini berarti rata-rata kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol yang menunjukan terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share berbantuan Kartu Masalah Kontekstual terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis. Perhitungan besar pengaruh menggunakan uji Cliff's Delta menghasilkan nilai δ = 0,42 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share berbantuan media kartu masalah kontekstual memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP Negeri 1 Bojonggede. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model assisted by contextual problem cards on the mathematical reasoning ability of students at SMP Negeri 1 Bojonggede. The research method employed was quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group design. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, which selected class VII-J as the experimental class and class VII-G as the control class, each consisting of 40 students. The research instrument consisted of 2 essay questions on ratio and proportion material that had fulfilled the criteria of validity and reliability. The experimental class received treatment through the TPS cooperative learning model assisted by contextual problem cards, while the control class applied the expository learning model. Prerequisite test results indicated that the posttest data of both classes did not follow a normal distribution based on the Liliefors test at a 5% significance level; therefore, hypothesis testing was conducted using the Mann-Whitney test. The Mann-Whitney test results showed a value of |z_count |= 3.23, exceeding z table = 1.96 at the 5% significance level, leading to the rejection of H_0. This indicates that the average mathematical reasoning ability of students in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, showing that the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model assisted by contextual problem cards has an effect on students' mathematical reasoning ability. The effect size calculation using Cliff's Delta yielded a value of δ = 0.42, which falls into the medium category. This finding indicates that the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model assisted by contextual problem cards has an effect on the mathematical reasoning ability of students at SMP Negeri 1 Bojonggede.
