Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dengan komunikasi interpersonal pada murid kelas XI SMA di Kecamatan Pesanggrahan Jakarta Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh murid kelas XI dari 7 SMA di Kecamatan Pesanggrahan dengan sampel sejumlah 308 murid yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan Self Confidence Scale Lauster (2003), dan skala komunikasi interpersonal DeVitto (2017). Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kepercayaan diri murid berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 85,1% ditandai dengan murid yang sudah menumbuhkan perasaan tidak canggung saat berkomunikasi dan sudah mengurangi perasaan cemas dalam pikirannya tentang masa depannya karena murid saat ini mendapatkan dukungan dari orang tua dan orang terdekatnya, dan tingkat komunikasi interpersonal murid juga berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 81,8% ditandai dengan murid yang mendukung antara satu sama lain dengan memberikan dorongan agar teman sekelas tidak merasa cemas saat presentasi dan hasil ujian. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment setelah data dinyatakan berdistribusi normal (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, sig = 0,200) dan linear (Deviation from Linearity, sig = 0,831). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kepercayaan diri dengan komunikasi interpersonal (r = 0,520; p < 0,001). Koefisien determinasi menunjukkan bahwa kepercayaan diri berkontribusi sebesar 27,0% terhadap komunikasi interpersonal, sedangkan 73,0% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. ***** This study aims to determine the relationship between self-confidence and interpersonal communication among 11th-grade high school students in the Pesanggrahan Subdistrict of South Jakarta. This study employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The study population consists of all 11th-grade students from seven high schools in the Pesanggrahan Subdistrict, with a sample of 308 students selected using purposive sampling. The data collection instruments used were the Lauster Self-Confidence Scale (2003) and the DeVitto Interpersonal Communication Scale (2017). The results of the descriptive analysis indicate that students’ self-confidence levels fall into the moderate category, at 85.1%, characterized by students who have developed a sense of ease when communicating and have reduced feelings of anxiety regarding their future, as they currently receive support from their parents and close relatives; and the students’ interpersonal communication level also fell into the moderate category, at 81.8%, as evidenced by students supporting one another by offering encouragement so that classmates do not feel anxious during presentations and when receiving test results. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test after the data were confirmed to be normally distributed (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, sig = 0.200) and linear (Deviation from Linearity, sig = 0.831). The results of the study indicate a positive and significant relationship between self-confidence and interpersonal communication (r = 0.520; p < 0.001). The coefficient of determination shows that self-confidence accounts for 27.0% of the variance in interpersonal communication, while the remaining 73.0% is influenced by other factors.
