Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara self esteem dengan career decision making self efficacy (CDMSE) pada peserta didik SMP Negeri di Kelurahan Cipinang Muara. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel dalam penelitian terdiri dari 403 peserta didik kelas VIII dari ketiga SMP Negeri di Kelurahan Cipinang Muara dengan teknik sampling insidental. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian yaitu Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES) untuk variabel self esteem dan Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form (CDSE-SF) untuk variabel career decision making self efficacy (CDMSE). Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan rata-rata self esteem peserta didik berada di kategori sedang (64%), begitupun career decision making self efficacy (CDMSE) berada di kategori sedang (67%). Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah korelasi Pearson yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,507, artinya semakin meningkat self esteem, maka semakin meningkat CDMSE, dan berlaku sebaliknya. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa tingkat self esteem yang tinggi dapat membantu peserta didik menilai kemampuan diri dengan objektif dan meningkatkan keyakinan akan kemampuan dirinya, khususnya pada tugas-tugas dalam proses pengambilan keputusan karier.***** This study aims to examine the relationship between self-esteem and career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) among students at public junior high schools in the Cipinang Muara neighborhood. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 403 eighth-grade students from the three public junior high schools in the Cipinang Muara neighborhood, selected using incidental sampling. The data collection instruments used in the study were the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) for the self-esteem variable and the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form (CDSE-SF) for the career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) variable. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the students’ average self-esteem fell into the moderate category (64%), and their career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) also fell into the moderate category (67%). The analysis technique used was Pearson’s correlation, which revealed a significant positive relationship with a correlation coefficient of 0.507; this means that as self-esteem increases, CDMSE also increases, and vice versa. These findings confirm that a high level of self-esteem can help students assess their abilities objectively and boost their confidence in their abilities, particularly when performing tasks involved in the career decision-making process.
