Abstract
Hasil penciptaan diwujudkan dalam karya The Art of Becoming Whole. ***** Child grooming is a gradual form of manipulation carried out by adults through emotional closeness and a child’s trust for the purpose of sexual exploitation. This artistic creation aims to represent the threats of child grooming, trauma, and the recovery process of survivors through mixed-media painting. The creation method employed a qualitative methodology with a research-led practice approach. Data were collected through literature studies, observation, interviews with a psychologist and survivors, questionnaires, the artist’s personal experiences, and visual exploration. The creative process consisted of exploration, design, realization, and evaluation stages. The final artwork, entitled The Art of Becoming Whole, conceptually represents trauma, self-acceptance, and the survivor’s efforts to rebuild their identity. Visually, figures, bright colours, red fabric, personal symbols, and stitches are used as metaphors for manipulation, wounds, memory, and recovery. Operationally, the artwork combines oil paint, fabric, wool thread, as well as layering, glazing, and stitching techniques. The artwork functions as a medium of expression, education, reflection, and social criticism to raise public awareness of the dangers of child grooming.
