Abstract

Narasi Visual tentang Penemuan Bakat Berbasis Asset Based Thinking Theory bagi Remaja. Skripsi Penciptaan Karya Seni Rupa, Program Studi Pendidikan Seni Rupa, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Banyak remaja mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenali bakat karena cenderung berfokus pada kekurangan dibandingkan potensi yang dimiliki. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan rendahnya kepercayaan diri dan kurang optimalnya pengembangan kemampuan diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang narasi visual berupa picture book interaktif yang membantu remaja mengenali dan mengembangkan bakat berdasarkan Asset Based Thinking Theory. Penciptaan karya menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan Design Thinking. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka, penyebaran kuesioner kepada remaja, wawancara dengan narasumber ahli, target audiens, dan ahli media, observasi, serta pengalaman magang sebagai pendukung proses penciptaan karya. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah melalui tahapan Design Thinking yang meliputi empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test untuk menghasilkan media yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Hasil penelitian berupa picture book interaktif berjudul The Backpack of You: What to Carry Forward yang mengisahkan perjalanan seorang remaja dalam menemukan bakat melalui lima tahapan Asset Based Thinking Theory, yaitu Define, Discovery, Dream, Design, dan Destiny. Karya ini memadukan ilustrasi naratif, metafora visual, serta aktivitas reflektif yang dirancang sesuai karakteristik remaja usia 15 tahun–18 tahun. Media yang dihasilkan diharapkan dapat membantu remaja memahami potensi diri, meningkatkan kesadaran terhadap aset yang dimiliki, serta mendorong keberanian dalam mengembangkan bakat sebagai bekal menghadapi masa depan. Many adolescents experience difficulties in recognizing their talents because they tend to focus on their shortcomings rather than the strengths they possess. This condition often leads to low self-confidence and prevents them from developing their potential optimally. This study aims to design an interactive visual narrative in the form of a picture book that helps adolescents recognize and develop their talents based on the Asset-Based Thinking Theory.This creative research employs a qualitative method with a Design Thinking approach. Data were collected through literature review, questionnaires distributed to adolescents, interviews with subject matter experts, target audiences, and media experts, observations, and internship experience to support the creative process. The collected data were then analyzed and transformed through the Design Thinking stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test to produce a user-centered visual medium. The result of this study is an interactive picture book entitled The Backpack of You: What to Carry Forward, which tells the story of an adolescent's journey in discovering personal talents through the five stages of the Asset-Based Thinking Theory: Define, Discovery, Dream, Design, and Destiny. The book combines narrative illustrations, visual metaphors, and reflective activities tailored to the characteristics of adolescents aged 15–18 years. It is expected to serve as an effective medium for helping adolescents understand their potential, increase awareness of their personal assets, and encourage them to develop their talents with greater confidence.
