Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) berbantuan Zep Quiz terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP Negeri 7 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. Sebelum sampel penelitian ditentukan, seluruh kelas diuji normalitas, homogenitas, dan kesamaan rata-ratanya. Setelah memenuhi ketiga prasyarat tersebut, sampel penelitian dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas VIII-D sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII-C sebagai kelas kontrol. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa diukur menggunakan instrumen tes yang terdiri dari empat soal uraian yang telah dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Hipotesis penelitian diuji menggunakan uji-t, dimana sebelumnya data telah memenuhi uji prasyarat yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Berdasarkan hasil posttest, rata-rata dan simpangan baku kelas eksperimen sebesar 60,06 dan 21,482 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 44,73 dan 18,10. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis, diperoleh nilai t_hitung sebesar 3,255 dan nilai t_((0,95;69)) sebesar 1,667. Dari hasil tersebut didapatkan nilai t_hitung lebih besar daripada nilai t_((0,95;69)), yang berarti sudah cukup bukti untuk menolak H_0. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Hal tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) berbantuan Zep Quiz berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP Negeri 7 Jakarta. Besar pengaruhnya dihitung menggunakan Cohen’s d yaitu sebesar 76% yang termasuk ke dalam kategori sedang. ***** The purpose of this study is to determine whether the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model assisted by Zep Quiz have an impact on the mathematical problem solving ability of students at SMP Negeri 7 Jakarta. This study employed a quasi experimental research method with a nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. Before the research sample was determined, the all classes were tested for normality, homogeneity, and equality of means. After meeting these three prerequisites, the research sample was selected using cluster random sampling, resulting in Class VIII-D as the experimental class and Class VIII-C as the control class. Students’ mathematical problem solving ability was measured using a test instrument consisting of four essay questions that had been valid and reliable. The research hypothesis was tested using a t-test, after the data had satisfied the prerequisite tests, including normality test and the homogeneity test. Based on the posttest results, the mean score and standard deviation of the experimental class were 60.06 and 21.482, while the control class were 44.73 and 18.10. Based on the hypothesis testing results, the t_calculated was 3,255 and the t_((0,95;69)) was 1,667. These results show that the t_calculated is greater than the t_((0,95;69)), indicating sufficient evidence to reject H₀. The test results demonstrate that the mean mathematical problem solving ability of students in the experimental class is higher than that of the control class. This indicates that the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model, supported by Zep Quiz, has an effect on the mathematical problem-solving skills of students at SMP Negeri 7 Jakarta. The effect size was calculated using Cohen’s d and the value is 76%, which falls into the medium category.
