Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi berbasis Flipped Classroom melalui pendekatan Self-Directed Learning (SDL) bagi murid kelas IX SMP. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan menulis murid pada materi teks eksplanasi serta pembelajaran yang masih konvensional dan kurang mendorong kemandirian dan tanggung jawab murid dalam belajar. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE, yang meliputi tahap analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa buku digital "Teks Eksplanasi¬¬_ Flipped Classroom¬_Self-Directed Learning (SDL)" yang dikembangkan melalui aplikasi Flip PDF/FlipBuilder. Kelayakan model diuji melalui validasi ahli media (skor 4,45, kategori layak) dan ahli materi ajar (skor 5, kategori sangat layak), serta melalui tanggapan pendidik (skor 5, kategori sangat layak) dan murid (skor 4,65, kategori sangat layak) pada tahap uji coba di SMP Bina Pangudi Luhur Jakarta. Efektivitas model diukur melalui desain pretest-posttest terhadap 61 murid, dengan hasil rata-rata pretest 38,13 meningkat menjadi rata-rata posttest 84,10, serta skor N-Gain rata-rata 0,74 yang termasuk kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran ini layak dan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi murid SMP, sekaligus menumbuhkan kemandirian belajar murid. ***** This study aims to develop a learning model for writing explanatory texts based on the Flipped Classroom model through a Self-Directed Learning (SDL) approach for ninth-grade junior high school students. The study was motivated by students' low writing skills in explanatory text material, as well as by conventional learning practices that provided limited support for students' independence and responsibility in learning. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, comprising the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The resulting product is a digital flipbook titled "Teks Eksplanasi_Flipped Classroom_Self-Directed Learning (SDL)," developed using the Flip PDF/FlipBuilder application. The feasibility of the model was tested through validation by a media expert (score 4.45, feasible category) and a subject-matter expert (score 5, highly feasible category), as well as through the responses of teachers (score 5, highly feasible category) and students (score 4.65, highly feasible category) during the field trial at SMP Bina Pangudi Luhur Jakarta. The effectiveness of the model was measured through a pretest-posttest design involving 61 students, with the average pretest score of 38.13 increasing to an average posttest score of 84.10, along with an average N-Gain score of 0.74, which falls into the high category. The findings show that this learning model is feasible and effective for improving the explanatory text writing skills of junior high school students, while also fostering students' independence in learning.
