Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis etika komunikasi politik anggota Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat melalui gerakan verbal dan nonverbal yang ditampilkan dalam program “Mata Najwa” periode Juli hingga Desember 2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 3 bulan terhitung dari Februari hingga Mei 2020. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan content analysis. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi, observasi dan wawancara yang dilakukan kepada informan yaitu Dosen-dosen program studi PPKN, Ilmu Komunikasi, dan Hubungan Masyarakat. Kelengkapan data dan informasi didukung oleh pendapat ahli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya beberapa anggota DPR yang melakukan pelanggaran terhadap kaidah etika komunikasi politik melalui verbal dan nonverbal. Gaya bicara terkesan marah, menggunakan bahasa yang tidak sopan dan menggunakan gerakan-gerakan tubuh yang emosional. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah beberapa anggota DPR belum menggunakan etika komunikasi politik yang baik dalam ruang publik . Hal ini disebabkan oleh faktor situasional, perbedaan partai politik, budaya, dan lingkungan. Seharusnya pejabat publik sadar ia berada diruang publik sehingga ia mampu membawa pesan-pesan politik yang ideal dan mampu memberikan pendidikan politik kepada masyarakat melalui komunikasi politik. This study aims to analyze the ethics of political communication of Members of Parliament through verbal and nonverbal movements displayed in the "Mata Najwa" program for the period July to December 2019. This research was conducted for 3 months from February to May 2020. The method used in this research is qualitative with a content analysis approach. Data collection techniques used were documentation, observation, and interviews conducted to informants namely lecturers of the Civic Education study program, Communication Studies, and Public Relations. The completeness of data and information is upported by expert opinion. The results showed that there were some Members of Parliament violated the ethical rules of political communication through verbal and non-verbal means. The style of speech impressed anger, using language that is not polite and uses emotional body movements. This study concludes that some Members of Parliament have not used the ethics of good political communication in the public room. This is caused by situational factors, differences in political parties, culture, and environment. Public officials should be aware that they are in the public room so that they can bring the ideal political messages and can give political education to the public through political communication.
