Abstract
Minat baca adalah sebuah keinginan yang dimiliki oleh seseorang terhadap suatu bacaan yang kemudian dapat mendorong untuk memahami bacaan tersebut bahkan dapat menelaah bacaan lebih lanjut yang diinginkannya. Siswa yang memiliki minat baca tinggi maka tingkatkemelekwacaan warga negara akan tinggi juga. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini diketahui bahwa rendahnya minat baca siswa di SMP Negeri 158 Jakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data empiris mengenai hubungan minat baca dengan civic literacy siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk metode korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan data sampel menggunakan sample random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 152 responden yang merupakan siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 158 Jakarta. Uji persyaratan yang dilakukan yaitu uji normalitas menggunakan rumus liliefors diperoleh hasil variabel X Lhitung = 0,0602 < Ltabel = 0,0718 sedangkan untuk variabel Y diperoleh Lhitung = 0.0684 < Ltabel = 0,0718. Dengan demikian Lhitung < Ltabel sehingga variabel X dan variabel Y berdistribusi normal. Selanjutnya yaitu uji linearitas diperoleh persamaan Ῡ = 15.985 + 0.061x. Peneliti melanjutkan melakukan uji hipotesis untuk mencari signifikansi regresi sehingga diperoleh Fhitung = 6,79 > Ftabel = 3.91, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa regresi yang diperoleh adalah signifikan. Sedangkan uji kelinieran regresi menunjukkan Fhitung = 0,40 > Ftabel = 1,46, hal ini menunjukkan regresi bersifat linear. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji korelasi product moment dihasilkan rhitung = 0.208 > rtabel = 0,159 menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif. Uji signifikansi hubungan menggunakan uji t diperoleh thitung = 2.6 > ttabel = 1.65 artinya perbandingan kedua nilai tersebut menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang berarti atau signifikan. Uji koefisien determinasi diperoleh KD sebesar 4.30% artinya besar kontribusi besarnya kontribusi minat baca dengan civic literacy sebesar 4.30%, sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain. Kesimpulan dari hasil analisis adalah terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara minat baca dengan civic literacy siswa di SMP Negeri 158 Jakarta. Interest in reading is a desire possessed by someone for a reading which can then encourage to understand the reading can even examine the further reading they want. Students who have high interest in reading will have high civic literacy rates as well. The problem in this study is that the low reading interest of students at SMP Negeri 158 Jakarta. This study aims to obtain empirical data regarding the relationship of reading interest with student civic literacy. The requirements test that was carried out was the normality test using the liliefors formula, obtained X variable Lcount = 0.0602 <Ltable = 0.0718, while for Y variable it was obtained Lcount = 0.0684 < Ltable = 0.0718. Thus Lcount < Ltable so that the variables X and Y are normally distributed. Next is the linearity test obtained by the equation Ῡ = 15.985 + 0.061x. Researchers continue to test the hypothesis to find the significance of regression so that Fcount = 6.79 > Ftable = 3.91, this shows that the regression obtained is significant. While the linearity test of regression shows Fcount = 0.40 > Ftable = 1.46, this shows the regression is linear. Furthermore, the product moment correlation test is produced, rcount = 0.208 > rtable = 0.159 indicating a positive relationship. Test the significance of the relationship using the t test obtained tcount = 2.6> ttable = 1.65 means that the comparison of the two values indicates a meaningful or significant relationship. The coefficient of determination test obtained by KD of 4.30% means that the contribution of reading interest with civic literacy is 4.30%, the rest is influenced by other variables. The conclusion from the analysis is that there is a significant positive relationship between reading interest and civic literacy of students in SMP Negeri 158 Jakarta.
