Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gagasan kebangsaan dari Hoesin Bafagieh bagi keturunan Arab di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode sejarah dengan penyajian hasil penelitian dalam bentuk deskriptif naratif. Pengumpulan data terdiri dari buku-buku, surat kabar, majalah, jurnal maupun skripsi lainnya. Hasil penelitian skirpsi ini menjelaskan bahwa Hoesin Bafagieh adalah salah satu tokoh keturunan Arab yang memiliki kontribusi dalam menyebarkan gagasan kebangsaan bagi masyarakat Arab. Dilatarbelakangi semangat perlawanan kaum muda atas pemahaman dan tradisi kaum tua di kalangan masyarakat Arab, khususnya di Surabaya, membuat Hoesin Bafagieh bersama beberapa pemuda Arab lainnya membuat suatu perkumpulan. Hoesin Bafagieh adalah seorang jurnalistik, maka melalui majalah INSAF dan Aliran Baroe, Hoesin Bafagieh mencoba untuk membangun kesadaran berbangsa masyarakat Arab. Aliran Baroe bersama PAI berperan penting dalam menumbuhkan semangat nasionalisme ke Indonesiaan di dalam masyarakat Arab yang ditandai oleh pasrtipasi masyarakat Arab dalam memperjuangkan cita-cita kemerdekaan Indonesia. This study aims to determine the idea of nationality from Hoesin Bafagieh for Arab descendants in Indonesia.The research method used is the historical method by presenting the results of research in the form of narrative descriptive.Data collection consists of books, newspapers, magazines, journals and other theses. The results of this thesis research explain that Hoesin Bafagieh was one of the figures of Arab descent who had contributed in spreading the idea of nationality to the Arab community.Against the background of the spirit of youth resistance to the understanding and tradition of the elderly in the Arab community, especially in Surabaya, made Hoesin Bafagieh along with several other Arab youths to make an association. Hoesin Bafagieh is a journalist, so through INSAF magazine and Aliran Baroe,Hoesin Bafagieh tried to build awareness among the Arab community.Aloe Baroe and PAI played an important role in fostering the spirit of Indonesian nationalism in Arab society is marked by the participation of the Arab community in fighting for the ideals of Indonesian independence.
