Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran Complete Sentence menggunakan Google Classroom terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 167 Jakarta Timur. Populasi penelitian sebanyak lima kelas dan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII A. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan secara daring pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan One Group Pretest – Posttest Design yang melibatkan satu kelompok siswa, yaitu kelas eksperimen. Hasil perhitungan yang didapat dari sampel penelitian yaitu, hasil rata-rata pretest menulis teks eksplanasi sebesar 51,25 dan hasil rata-rata posttest menulis teks eksplanasi sebesar 82,22. Berdasarkan uji homogenitas dengan menggunakan uji fisher, dari hasil perhitungan yaitu Fhitung 2,39 dan Ftabel 4,23 dengan demikian sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini memiliki varians yang homogen. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t, hasil penghitungan diperoleh thitung sebesar 15,115 dan ttabel sebesar 1,7056. Dari data tersebut dapat diperoleh hasil penelitian menolak Ho, dan hasilnya terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode pembelajaran Complete Sentence menggunakan Google Classroom terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi. Metode pembelajaran Complete Sentence dengan menggunakan Google Classroom dapat digunakan pada pembelajaran teks eksposisi. Pada saat menerapkan metode complete sentence guru sebaiknya memilih media yang menarik bagi siswa. Kata kunci: metode Complete Sentence, Google Classroom, kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi This study aims to determine the effect of the Complete Sentence learning method using Google Classroom on the ability to write explanatory text for class VIII students of SMPN 167 East Jakarta. The research population consisted of five classes and the sample used in this study was class VIII A. This research was conducted online in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The method used is the experimental method. The research design used One Group Pretest - Posttest Design which involved one group of students, namely the experimental class. The results of the calculations obtained from the research sample, namely, the pretest average result of writing explanatory text is 51.25 and the average result of writing explanatory text posttest is 82.22. Based on the homogeneity test using the Fisher test, the results of the calculation are Fcount 2.39 and Ftable 4.23, thus the sample used in this study has a homogeneous variance. Based on the hypothesis test using the t-test, the calculation results obtained tcount of 15,115 and ttable of 1,7056. From these data, it can be obtained that the research results reject Ho, and the result is that there is an effect of using the Complete Sentence learning method using Google Classroom on the ability to write explanatory text. The Complete Sentence learning method using Google Classroom can be used in learning exposition text.
