Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh berubahnya kedudukan kelas samurai semenjak Restorasi Meiji. Kehidupan para samurai semakin lama semakin sulit. Oleh karena itu peneliti menganalisis pengaruh Restorasi Meiji terhadap kehidupan samurai dalam komik Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story karya Nobuhiro Natsuki. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka dengan mengumpulkan data-data dari buku, jurnal dan artikel online. Tujuan dari pembuatan makalah ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Restorasi Meiji terhadap kehidupan samurai yang tergambar pada komik ini. Hasil penelitian ini adalah ditemukan beberapa dampak dari Restorasi Meiji terhadap kehidupan samurai. Kesimpulan dari penulisan makalah ini adalah berdasarkan komik Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story karya Nobuhiro Natsuki, Restorasi Meiji membawa kehancuran pada kaum samurai. This research was motivated by the changing of the Samurai class during Meiji Restoration. The life of the Samurai became increasingly complicated. Therefore, researcher analyzed the influence of Meiji Restoration on Samurai’s life in comic Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story by Nobuhiro Natsuki. Data collection technique was used in this research is literature study by collecting data from books, journals and online articles. This research was aimed at determining the influence of Meiji Restoration on Samurai’s life that pictured in comic. The results of the research showed several impacts toward Meiji Restoration on the life of Samurai. The conclusion of this research based on the comic Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story by Nobuhiro Natsuki, the Meiji Restoration caused destruction to the life of Samurai.
