Abstract
This study aims to find and describe the types, forms, factors causing code switching and code mixing in the Night Shift Radio Prambors Jakarta broadcast program. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. In processing the data, the researcher used the observation technique with the listening technique with the proficient free technique, proficient involvement that was promoted by Mahsun. Then the data obtained from the field, the researcher will analyze using the analysis of the Miles and Huberman model in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/levers. The results of the study contained 260 code switching data, with code switching out of 130 data (50.00%). In the causal factors, there are 100 data (38.46%) of speakers, 22 data (8.46%), 7 topic data (2.69%), and 1 data (0.38%) prestige or prestige. Whereas in code mixing there were 2,528 data with mixing code into as much as 1 data (0.04%) and mixing code out as many as 803 data (31.76%). In the form category, there were 510 data (20.17%) in the form of words, 225 data (8.90%) in the form of phrases, 28 data (1.11%) in the form of clauses, 24 data (0.95%) in the form of repetition of words, 30 data (1.19%) were in the form of idioms, and 50 data (1.98%) were in the form of a cross. The cause is also the factor causing code mixing with 634 data (25.08%) due to speakers, 88 data (3.48%) due to the influence of speech, 26 data (1.03%) due to topic, 23 data (0.91%) due to code limitations, 8 data (0.32%) due to prestige, 3 data (0.12%) due to sense of humor, and 75 data (2.97%) due to the use of more popular terms.
