Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) menggunakan media Google Classroom terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 5 Jakarta. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada pembelajaran tahun 2019/2020. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel dalam penelitian terdiri atas 25 siswa dari kelas VIIIB di SMPN 5 Jakarta. Berdasarkan analisis data, uji fisher digunakan sebagai uji homogenitas. Dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh F_hitung sebesar 1,05 dan F_tabel sebesar 1,98 maka hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa F_hitung 1,05< F_tabel 1,98. Dengan demikian, populasi memiliki varians yang homogen. Berdasarkan perhitungan Uji-t, diperoleh t_hitung = 5,129 dan t_tabel = 1,711 untuk taraf signifikan ɑ sebesar 0,05. Perhitungan uji-t tersebut menunjukkan bahwa t_hitung> t_tabel, maka hipotesis diterima. Rata-rata kemampuan siswa pada saat tes awal 63,5 sedangkan nilai tes akhir 73,4, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai tes akhir lebih tinggi dari pada nilai tes awal. Oleh karena itu, terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) menggunakan media Google Classroom terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 5 Jakarta. Aplikasinya terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di masa pandemi ini, guru dapat menggunakan model pembelajaran CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) menggunakan media Google Classroom dalam menulis teks eksplanasi sesuai dengan karakteristik teks yang dibuat secara tulis. Model tersebut membantu siswa secara aktif untuk mengembangkan pengetahuan secara bersama untuk membentuk pengetahuan baru terkait fenomena alam dan sosial. Model ini dapat diimpilkasikan dalam praktik menulis teks eksposisi yang terletak pada KD 3.6 dan 4.6. Kata Kunci : model CORE, media Google Classroom, menulis teks eksplanasi ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) using Google Classroom media on the ability to write explanatory text for class VIII students of SMP 5 Jakarta. This research was conducted in the 2019/2020 learning year. The method used is an experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The sample in the study consisted of 25 students from class VIIIB at SMP Negeri 5 Jakarta. Based on data analysis, the fisher test was used as a homogeneity test. From the calculation results obtained Fcount of 1.05 and F table of 1.98, these results indicate that Fcount of 1.05 <F table of 1.98. Thus, the population has a homogeneous variance. Based on the t-test calculation, obtained t count = 5.129 and t table = 1.711 for a significant level ɑ of 0.05. The t-test calculation shows that tcount> ttable, then the hypothesis is accepted. The average student ability at the time of the initial test was 63.5 while the final test score was 73.4, this indicates that the final test score was higher than the initial test score. Therefore, there is an influence of the CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) using Google Classroom media on the ability to write explanatory text for class VIII students of SMPN 5 Jakarta. The application for learning Indonesian during this pandemic, teachers can use the CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) using Google Classroom media in writing explanatory text according to the characteristics of the text that is written in writing. This model helps students actively to develop knowledge together to form new knowledge related to natural and social phenomena. This model can be applied to the practice of writing an exposition text which is located in KD 3.6 and 4.6. Keywords: CORE model, Google Classroom media, writing explanatory text
