Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media Instagram @jktinfo terhadap keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 216 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan jenis Pre-experimental design, One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 216 Jakarta dengan sampel penelitian kelas VIII-8 yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Rata-rata nilai prates sebesar 68,95 dan rata-rata nilai pascates yang sebesar 84,44. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis dengan uji-t, menunjukkan data prates dan pascates pada kelas eksperimen memiliki thitung sebesar 10,00 dan ttabel sebesar 2,030. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh media Instagram @jktinfo terhadap keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 216 Jakarta. Adanya pengaruh tersebut terlihat pada kenaikan nilai per aspeknya, seperti aspek struktur, kaidah kebahasaan, dan aspek menulis. Aspek yang mengalami kenaikan signifikan adalah aspek kaidah kebahasaan, khususnya aspek kalimat langsung dan tidak langsung. Hal ini dipengaruhi dari media Instagram @jktinfo yang memuat informasi peristiwa di Jakarta dan sekitarnya sehingga dapat menunjang siswa dalam menulis teks berita. Media Instagram @jktinfo ini dapat diimplikasikan dengan materi teks lain, seperti teks eksposisi. This research aims to know the effect of @jktinfo Instagram media on the writing skills news texts for 8th graders of 216 Junior High School Jakarta. This study used an experimental method with the type of Pre-experimental design, One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this research was all students of class VIII in 216 Junior High School Jakarta with the research sample of class VIII-8, which amounted to 36 students. The average pre-test score was 68.95 and the average post-test score was 84.44. Based on the hypothesis test with the t-test, it shows that the pre-test and post-test data in the experimental class have a t-count of 10.00 and a t-table of 2.030. Thus, there is the effect of the @jktinfo’s Instagram media on the writing skills news texts for 8th graders of 216 Junior High School Jakarta. This effect can be seen in the increase in value per aspect, such as aspects of structure, language principles, and aspects of writing. Aspects that have increased significantly are aspects of language principles, especially aspects of direct and indirect speech. This is effect of the @jktinfo Instagram media which contains information on events in and around Jakarta that could help students write the news text. @jktinfo Instagram media can be implied to other text materials, such as the exposition text.
