Abstract

Salah satu target dalam penerjemahan adalah ekuivalensi. Namun, sulit untuk mencapai ekuivalensi (kesetaraan) tersebut karena setiap negara memiliki budaya yang berbeda yang mewakili identitas masing-masing. Perbedaan tersebut juga mempengaruhi struktur bahasa di tiap-tiap Negara. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mencari kesetaraan dalam terjemahan bahasa inggris Webtoon Eggnoid. Studi ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis untuk menemukan kesetaraan dalam penerjemahan, studi ini merupakan kualitatif. Pada studi ini ekuivalensi yang di temukan didalam Webtoon Eggnoid adalah ekuivalensi di tingkat kata, ekuivalensi diatas tingkat kata, ekuivalensi di tingkat gramatikal, dan ekuivalensi di tingkat pragmatik. Ekuivalensi yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah category of person di tingkat gramatikal. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa banyak kata ganti perorangan dalam bahasa Indonesia yang diterjemahkan kedalam kata ganti perorangan dalam bahasa Inggris. Hasil lain yang ditemukan menunjukkan jika equivalensi digunakan untuk membuat terjemahan yang sewajar mungkin di dalam target teks dan equivalensi juga di gunakan untuk membantu pembaca agar lebih mudah dalam memahami isi cerita. One of the translation targets is equivalence. However, it is hard to achieve the target because each country has different culture that represents their identity. The difference also affects the structure of language in each country. This study aims to find the equivalence in the English translation of Eggnoid Webtoon and to find the extent of equivalence in Eggnoid Webtoon translation. This study is qualitative and used a descriptive analytical method to find out the result. The results of this study found that, in Eggnoid Webtoon there are four equivalence found; equivalence at the word level, equivalence at above word level, equivalence at the grammatical level, and equivalence at pragmatic level. The most equivalence found is in grammatical level category of person. It is show that most personal prounouns in Indonesia are translated into English prounoun. The result also indicates that the equivalence is used to create the translation as natural as possible in the target text and to help the reader to understand the content easily.
