Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh social comparison terhadap body dissatisfaction wanita dewasa awal di Jakarta. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 298 wanita dewasa awal di Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan teknik analisa regresi linear satu prediktor. Pengukuran variabel social comparison pada penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur Iowa-Netherlands Social Comparison Measure (INCOM) yang dibuat oleh Gibbons dan Buunk (1999), dan untuk mengukur variabel body dissatisfaction menggunakan alat ukur Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) yang dibuat oleh Cooper et al., (1987). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara social comparison terhadap body dissatisfaction pada wanita dewasa awal di Jakarta. *************** This study aims to find how the influence of social comparison on body dissatisfaction of young adult women in Jakarta. The sample in this study is 298 young adult women in Jakarta. The research method used is a quantitative method with linear predictor analysis techniques one predictor. Measurement of social comparison variables in this study uses the Iowa-Netherlands Social Comparison Measure (INCOM) measuring instrument made by Gibbons and Buunk (1999) and to measure the body dissatisfaction variable using the The Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) measuring instrument made by Cooper et al ., (1987). The results showed that there was a significant influence between social comparison on body dissatisfaction in young adult women in Jakarta.
