Abstract

Pembelajaran bahasa Inggris secara daring telah digunakan secara luas untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran di kelas maupun untuk mempermudah proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan jarak jauh. Terlepas dari kekurangannya, pembelajaran daring sangat bermanfaat pada masa pandemi seperti sekarang ini. Dalam pembeljaran daring ada beberapa hal yang mempengaruhi performa siswa, diantaranya; efikasi diri dan kemampuan kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana efikasi diri dan kemampuan kogitif mempengaruhi performa siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Penelitian memperoleh data dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 110 mahasiswa yang dipilih secara acak. Hasilnya penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa secara statistik ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara efikasi diri dan kemampuan kognitif terhadap performa siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris daring. Kata Kunci: Efikasi diri, kemampuan kognitif, pembelajaran bahasa Inggris daring. English online learning has been widely used to improve teaching and learning activity and to facilitate the learning process that is carried out over a distance. Despite the disadvantages, online learning is beneficial during the Covid-19 pandemic like now. In online learning there are several things that affect student performance, including; self-efficacy and cognitive abilities of students. This study aims to find out how self-efficacy affected students’ performance in English online learning and to investigate the effect of cognitive presence on students’ performance in English online learning. Research was conducted quantitatively by using survey research design. Researchers obtained data by distributing questionnaires to 110 students who were randomly selected. The results of this study indicate that there is a statistically significant effect of self-efficacy and cognitive presence on students’ performance in English online learning.
