Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui plagiarisme di kalangan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan tugas kuliah (studi deskriptif pada mahasiswa program studi pendidikan ilmu pengetahuan sosial fakultas ilmu social Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan faktor utama tindak plagiarisme dalah pengaturan waktu yang kurang baik dalam mengerjakan tugas kuliah. Selain itu kurangnya penyuluhan dari pihak kampus terkait peraturan pelanggaran akademik serta sanksi yang diberikan. Sehingga menyebabkan responden memungkinkan melakukan tindak plagiarisme. Pencegahan tindak plagiarime diantaranya, kejujuran dalam mengerjakan karya ilmiah, menggunakan aplikasi anti plagiarisme dan juga menggunakan prafarsa. Namun tidak sedikit juga mahasiswa yang belum menerapkan pencegahan tindak plagiarisme. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya keterbatasan waktu pengerjaan tugas kuliah sehingga tidak sempat menggunakan aplikasi atau piranti lunak anti plagiarisme. This study is aimed to discover the plagiarism among the students in completing collage tasks (descriptive study of students of social science education study program in state University of Jakarta). The descriptive method is attempted conducting this study which the data is conducted by using questionnaire and interview techniques. This study showed that the major factor of plagiarism is the poor time management among students in completing collage tasks. Furthermore, there was the lack of education of plagiarism from the institute associated with academic violation rules and its penalty. These factors were led to possibility of participant in doing plagiarism. Plagiarism prevention that could be taken are honesty in completing collage task, using anti-plagiarism application, and using paraphrase. On the other side, there were also many students who have not implemented plagiarism prevention. This was due to the limitation of completing the task therefore the students were struggling in using anti-plagiarism application or software.
