Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan objek yaitu novel Kitchen karya Yoshimoto Banana. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis keterkaitan omoiyari (kepedulian) dan amae (kebergantungan) dalam menghadapi fenomena hikikomori yang digambarkan oleh tokoh Mikage Sakurai dan Yuichi Tanabe. Penulis menggunakan metode studi pustaka untuk mengumpulkan data dan menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis untuk menganalisis data, kemudian dianalisa dengan teori Lebra dan Kazuya Hara, juga Doi tentang omoiyari dan amae mengkaji keterkaitan antara omoiyari dan amae dalam menghadapi hikikomori pada novel Kitchen karya Yoshimoto Banana. Kemudian hasil analisis dikemukakan dalam bentuk tabel. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, omoiyari yang dilakukan oleh tokoh Yuichi Tanabe dan Mikage Sakurai membangun rasa percaya yang mengakrabkan hubungan amae satu sama lain. Hubungan yang didasari dari omoiyari dan menimbulkan kepercayaan antarsesama ini membentuk kemampuan bersosialisasi dan mampu mengendalikan emosi seorang individu. Maka, jika dikategorikan sesuai dengan teori Lebra dan Kazuya Hara serta Doi tentang omoiyari dan amae, tokoh Mikage dan Yuichi mengekspresikan omoiyari dan membangun amae setelah terlahirnya kepercayaan antar keduanya. Lalu, Mikage mampu menarik Yuichi kembali ke Tokyo ketika Yuichi menunjukkan kecenderungan mengalami hikikomori dengan mengomunikasikan kepeduliannya dengan mengatakan mereka bisa menghadapi ketakutan-ketakutan yang ada bersama-sama. This study uses Kitchen novel by Yoshimoto Banana as the main object. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between omoiyari (caring) and amae (dependence) in dealing with hikikomori phenomenon which described properly by Mikage Sakurai and Yuichi Tanabe. Method that used in this study is literature study method as in to collecting data, then analyze the data with descriptive analysis method alongside Lebra and Kazuya Hara also Doi’s theory of omoiyari and amae to examines the relationship between omoiyari and amae in dealing with hikikomori in Yoshimoto Banana’s novel, Kitchen. Thereafter, the analytical conclusion will be presented in tabular form. Based on the outcome, the omoiyari which were done by Yuichi Tanabe and Mikage Sakurai built a sense of trust that strengthened the dependency string between them. Any kind of mankind’s relationship which built by omoiyari would create mutual trust form of social interaction. Therefore, it’d be able to control oneself’s emotions after that. If it’s categorized according to the theories mentioned above, both Mikage and Yuichi succeeded expressing the trust they made from giving omoiyari which strengthened up their amae. Mikage whom Yuichi trust and depend on was able to draw him back to Tokyo when he tended to do hikikomori by cutting of the ties. Before he has been through that, Mikage prevailed get back in communicating with Yuichi again.
