Abstract

Websites can be a reference for learning media for teachers to convey knowledge and information to students. Recently, there is a large selection of websites that teachers use as the primary material. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a suitable website for students by analyzing the English website. to find evidence of the extent to which BBC Learning English fulfills the criteria of suitable English materials to improve students' listening skills. The study conducted a qualitative descriptive design and is categorized as document analysis. Yang and Chans (2008) divided into three categories: The general design, the technical design, and the pedagogical. The finding showed that the quality of the English website "BBC Learning English" is suitable enough to be used as a learning material in improving students' listening skills because almost all the criteria by Yang and Chan's Evaluation List were achieved. Situs web Website dapat menjadi referensi media pembelajaran bagi guru untuk menyampaikan ilmu dan informasi kepada siswa. Baru-baru ini, ada banyak pilihan situs web yang digunakan guru sebagai materi utama. Oleh karena itu, perlu untuk memilih situs web yang cocok untuk siswa dengan menganalisis situs web bahasa Inggris. untuk menemukan bukti sejauh mana BBC Learning English memenuhi kriteria materi bahasa Inggris yang sesuai untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mendengarkan siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan desain deskriptif kualitatif dan dikategorikan sebagai analisis dokumen. Sumber instrumen dibagi menjadi tiga kategori: kategori desain umum, kategori desain teknis, dan kategori desain pedagogis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas website bahasa Inggris “BBC Learning English” cukup layak untuk dijadikan bahan pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa karena hampir semua kriteria memenuhi indikator yang ditentukan oleh Yang dan Chan's Evaluation List.
