Abstract

Soepomo dikenal sebagai pahlawan nasional yang banyak berjasa dalam bidang hukum di Indonesia. Penelitian ini mengkaji sisi lain dari Soepomo, yaitu kiprahnya dalam dunia pers. Aktivitas pers yang dilakukannya secara aktif terjadi di majalah Mimbar Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini berupaya mengungkap peranan Soepomo dalam dunia pers terutama di majalah Mimbar Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat langkah, antara lain heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Untuk penulisan penelitiannya dilaksanakan dengan memakai teknik deskriptif naratif. Fokus utama dari penelitian ini berkaitan dengan kiprah Soepomo dalam sebuah majalah maka sudah tentu sumber utama yang digunakan ialah majalah Mimbar Indonesia. Sumber lain yang digunakan adalah berupa buku-buku yang memiliki relevansi dengan penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Soepomo adalah tokoh penting bagi majalah Mimbar Indonesia. Dirinya merupakan salah seorang tokoh pendiri sekaligus juga sebagai pengurus redaksi. Jabatan yang didudukinya adalah sebagai Dewan Redaksi hingga menjadi Dewan Penasihat. Selain itu, ia juga aktif sebagai kontributor. Majalah ini menjadi tempat terpenting baginya untuk dapat bebas menyampaikan pemikiran-pemikiran yang dimilikinya. Karena kiprahnya dalam majalah ini, membuat Soepomo diangkat sebagai anggota Dewan Kehormatan Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI). Kata Kunci: Soepomo, Pers, Mimbar Indonesi Soepomo is known as a national hero who has contributed a lot in the field of law in Indonesia. This study examines the other side of Soepomo, namely his work in the world of the press. His press activities were actively carried out in the Mimbar Indonesia magazine. The purpose of this research is to reveal Soepomo’srole in the world of the press, especially in the Mimbar Indonesia magazine. This research was conducted using the histrorical method which consists of our steps, including heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The writing of the research was carried out using descriptive narrative techniques. The main focus of this research is related to Soepomo’s work in a magazine, so of course the main source used is the Mimbar Indonesia magazine. Other sources used are books that have relevance to this research. The results of this study indicate that Soepomo is an important figure for the Mimbar Indonesia magazine. He is one of the founding figures as well as the editor in chief. The position he occupied was from the Editorial Board to the Advisory Board. In addition, he is also active as a contributor. The magazine is the most important place for him to be able to freely express his thoughts. Because of his work in this magazine, Soepomo was appointed as a member of the Honorary Council of the Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Keywords: Soepomo, Press, Mimbar Indonesia
