Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh sibling rivalry terhadap perilaku agresif siswa di SMP Negeri 147 Jakarta. Pengumpulan data penelitian mulai bulan September sampai dengan bulan Oktober tahun 2021 dengan menggunakan teknik pelaporan diri. Penelitian ini melibatkan 227 siswa kelas 8 dan kelas 9 yang dipilih secara acak. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur sibling rivalry terdiri dari 57 butir pernyataan berdasarkan dimensi iri, bersaing dan benci. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur perilaku agresif terdiri dari 34 butir pernyataan berdasarkan dimensi perilaku agresif terbuka dan perilaku agresif relasional. Data yang telah dikumpulkan diolah dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistika deskriptif dan statistika inferensial, yaitu uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sibling rivalry berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap perilaku agresif remaja (β=0,345, p<0,01). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi sibling rivalry yang dialami remaja maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat perilaku agresifnya. Koefisien determinasi yang didapat adalah sebesar 0,119 yang berarti sibling rivalry mempengaruhi perilaku agresif sebesar 11,9% dan 89,1% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini. Dengan demikian, mengatasi sibling rivalry dapat menjadi salah satu cara menekan tingkat perilaku agresif pada remaja. This study aims to analyze the effect of sibling rivalry on the aggressive behavior of students at SMP Negeri 147 Jakarta. The collection of research data from September to October 2021 using self-reporting techniques. This study involved 227 grade 8 and grade 9 students who were randomly selected. The instrument used to measure sibling rivalry consists of 57 statements based on the dimensions of envy, competition and hate. The instrument used to measure aggressive behavior consists of 34 statements based on the dimensions of overt aggressive behavior and relational aggressive behavior. The data that has been collected is processed and analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, namely simple linear regression test. The results showed that sibling rivalry had a significant positive effect on adolescent aggressive behavior (β=0.345, p<0.01). These results indicate that the higher the sibling rivalry experienced by adolescents, the higher the level of aggressive behavior. The coefficient of determination obtained is 0.119, which means that sibling rivalry affects aggressive behavior by 11.9% and the other 89.1% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Thus, overcoming sibling rivalry can be one way to reduce the level of aggressive behavior in adolescents
