Abstract

Digital literacy is the important ability to have in order to succeed in today’s era where almost everything is surrounded by digital technologies, tools, services or so on. This study aims to investigate to what extent digital literacy is incorporated in EFL learning materials for senior high school students then this study also aims to describe the ways how digital literacy is incorporated in EFL learning materials. This qualitative study uses content analyses in analyzing the 36 learning materials that have been collected from 4 different public senior high schools in east Jakarta area and 4 different teachers. This present study found that digital literacy is not maximally yet to be incorporated in the learning materials, there are still many learning materials that didn’t incorporate digital literacy at all. Digital literacy in learning materials is incorporated through many ways; instruction (43 occurrences), task (31 occurrences), text (8 occurrences), and last is provision of link (3 occurrences). Literasi digital merupakan kemampuan penting yang harus dimiliki untuk berhasil di era sekarang ini dimana hampir segalanya dikelilingi oleh teknologi, alat-alat, dan layanan yang bermuatan digital. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi sampai sejauh mana literasi digital tergabung di dalam materi pembelajaran bahasa inggris untuk anak sekolah menengah atas lalu studi ini juga bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana literasi digital tersebut tergabung di dalam materi pembelajaran bahasa inggris. Studi kualitatif ini menggunakan konten analisis sebagai metodologi di dalam menganalisis 36 bahan ajar bahasa inggris yang telah dikumpulkan dari 4 sekolah negeri yang ada di daerah Jakarta timur dan 4 guru yang berbeda. Studi ini menemukan bahwa literasi digital masih belum cukup maksimal tergabungkan di dalam materi pembelajaran bahasa inggris untuk anak SMA, karena masih banyak materi pembelajaran yang tidak menggabungkan literasi digital sama sekali. Literasi digital tergabung di dalam banyak cara; instruksi (43 kemunculan), tugas (31 kemunculan), teks (8 kemunculan), dan terakhir yaitu penyediaan link (3 kemunculan).
