Abstract

ABSTRAK (ID) Penelitian ini mengkaji persepsi mahasiswa tentang tugas penilaian (ATs) dalam mata kuliah Public Speaking (PS) dan English for Interpersonal and Transactional Communication (EITC) di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Tugas penilaian memainkan peran penting dalam dunia pendidikan, penilaian semacam ini harus sesekali memberikan umpan balik sumatif atas pencapaian untuk akuntabilitas dan tujuan lain (Damit, Shahrill, & Roslan, 2015). Apabila digunakan dengan benar, guru dan mahasiswa sama-sama dapat menggunakan hasil tugas penilaian (ATs) ini untuk kemajuan proses pembelajaran. Kemudian, Tugas penilaian (ATs) juga dapat digunakan untuk mengukur apakah siswa telah mencapai tujuan pembelajaran (CLO). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan kuesioner dan wawancara untuk mengumpulkan data tentang persepsi mahasiswa terhadap tugas penilaian (ATs). Data dikumpulkan dari 10 mahasiswa S1 angkatan 2018 dan 2019 yang telah menyelesaikan mata kuliah Public Speaking (PS) dan English for Interpersonal and Transactional Communication (EITC). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa mahasiswa ELESP UNJ cenderung memiliki persepsi yang positif terhadap tugas penilaian dalam mata kuliah Public Speaking dan English for Interpersonal and Transactional Communication. ABSTRACT (EN) This study investigates students’ perception of the assessment tasks (ATs) in Public Speaking (PS) and English for Interpersonal and Transactional Communication (EITC) courses at English Education Study Programme, State University of Jakarta. Assessment task plays an important role in the world of education, such assessment should provide occasional summative feedback on achievement for accountability and other purposes (Damit, Shahrill, & Roslan, 2015). When used correctly, teacher and students both can use the results of the assessment tasks (ATs) for the progress of the learning process. Furthermore, assessment tasks (ATs) can be used to measure if the students have reached the Course Learning Outcome (CLO). This study uses Qualitative Method with Questionnaires and Interviews to collect data of students’ perseption on the assessment tasks (ATs). The data gathered from 10 undergraduates of batch 2018 and 2019 who have completed the Public Speaking (PS) and English for Interpersonal and Transactional Communication (EITC) courses. This study found that the students in ELESP UNJ tend to have a positive perception towards the assessment task in both Public Speaking and English for Interpersonal and Transactional Communication courses.
