Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik melalui pendekatan STEAM dengan menggunakan Project Based Learning. Subjek penelitian merupakan peserta didik kelas XI Mia 2 di SMA Negeri 59 Jakarta yang berjumlah 36 orang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif dengan paradigma interpretatif. Penelitian kualitatif digunakan untuk mengamati, menganalis dan menggambarkan pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik melalui proses wawancara mendalam, lembar observasi, reflektif jurnal, dan soal berpikir kreatif. Kegiatan pembelajaran dilakukan dengan menerapkan enam tahapan Project Based Learning. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik dapat memunculkan sekaligus mengembangkan kemampuan fluency dan flexibility dengan baik. Namun untuk kemampuan originality dan elaboration hanya beberapa peserta didik yang dapat teramati. Kemampuan fluency peserta didik muncul ketika peserta didik mencetuskan banyak jawaban, gagasan, penyelesaian masalah, dan pertanyaan. Sedangkan kemampuan flexibility peserta didik munculketika peserta didik dapat menghasilkan jawaban yang bervariasi dan melihat masalah dari sudut pandang yang berbeda-beda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penerapan pendekatan STEAM dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik dengan mengikuti keenam tahapan Project Based Learning. This research aims to develop students’ creative thinking skill through STEAM approach by using Project Based Learning. The research subject were students of class XI Mia 2 in SMA Negeri 59 Jakarta, amounting to 36 people. The research method used is qualitative with interpretivism paradigm. Qualitative research is used to observe, analyze and describe the development students’ creative thinking skill through in depth interview process, observation sheet, journal reflective, and test of creativethinking. Learning activities are conducted by applying the six steps of Project Based Learning. The results showed that students can emerge and develop fluency and flexibility skills well. But for the skills of originality and elaboration only a few students can be observed. The fluency of students emerge when students trigger many answers, ideas, problem solving, and questions. While the flexibility of students emerge when students can produce varied answers and see problems from different angles. Based on the results of the research, the implementation of STEAM approach can develop creative thinking skill of students by following the six steps of Project Based Learning.
