Abstract

ABSTRAK Industri kopi selain menghasilkan biji kopi atau kopi bubuk juga mengahsilkan bahan buangan berupa limbah kulit kopi. Limbah ini jika tidak dikelola dengan baik akan meyebabkan kerusakan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan membuat model manajemen limbah padat kulit kopi menuju produksi bersih. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif yang dilakukan di industri kopi Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) Cibulao Hijau Cisarua Bogor. Model yang dirancang adalah sistem manajemen limbah yang berfokus pada pengelolaan limbah kulit kopi dengan menerapkan konsep 4R (reduce, reuse, recyle, dan recovery). Penelitian dilakukan pada kelompok tani hutan Cibualo Hijau tentang cara pengelolaan limbah padat kulit kopi untuk meminimalkan limbah menuju produksi bersih. Kelayakan model manajemen limbah yang diusulkan dianalisis berdasarkan kelayakan dari aspek teknis dan finansial pengolahan limbah kulit kopi menjadi produk pupuk organik vermikompos. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan beberapa temuan penelitian: (a) pengelolaan limbah padat kulit kopi pada KTH Cibulao Hijau belum merupakan sistem manajemn lingkungan dan belum menerapkan konsep produksi bersih; (b) rancangan model manajemen limbah padat kulit kopi dengan penerapan konsep 4R (reduce, reuse, recycle, dan recovery), dapat dikembangkan menjadi model manajemen limbah padat industri kopi menuju produksi bersih; (c) analisis teknis dan finansial pengolahan limbah padat kulit kopi menjadi pupuk organik vermikompos menunjukkan hasil layak dan efisien, sehingga dapat dijadikan sistem pengelolaan limbah untuk meminimasi limbah, dan menjadi usaha menguntungkan kepada petani KTH Cibulao Hijau. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah: telah dihasilkan suatu model sistem manajemen limbah padat kulit kopi untuk dijadikan model manajemen limbah padat pada industri kopi KTH Cibulao Hijau menuju produksi bersih. Kata kunci: manajemen limbah, kulit kopi, produksi bersih ABSTRACT The coffee industry, in addition to producing coffee beans or ground coffee, also produces waste in the form of coffee husk waste. This waste if not managed properly will cause environmental damage. This study aims to create a model of coffee husk solid waste management towards clean production. The research method used is descriptive qualitative which is carried out in the coffee industry of the Forest Farmers Group (KTH) Cibulao Hijau Cisarua Bogor. The model designed is a waste management system that focuses on the management of coffee skin waste by applying the 4R concept (reduce, reuse, recycle, and recovery). The research was conducted on the forest farmer group Cibulao Hijau on the management of coffee husk solid waste to minimize waste towards cleaner production. The feasibility of the proposed waste management model was analyzed based on the feasibility of the technical and financial aspects of processing coffee husk waste into vermicompost organic fertilizer products. The results revealed several research findings: (a) the management of solid waste coffee husks at KTH Cibulao Hijau is not yet an environmental management system and has not applied the concept of clean production; (b) the design of a coffee skin solid waste management model by applying the 4R concept (reduce, reuse, recycle, and recovery), which can be developed into a solid waste management model for the coffee industry towards clean production; (c) technical and financial analysis of processing coffee husk solid waste into organic fertilizer vermicompost shows feasible and efficient results, so that it can be used as a waste management system to minimize waste, and become a profitable business for farmers of KTH Cibulao Hijau. The conclusion of this study is: a model of coffee husk solid waste management system has been produced to be used as a solid waste management model in the KTH Cibulao Hijau coffee industry towards clean production.
