Abstract

Kompetensi profesional guru sosiologi dalam proses pembelajaran yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini adalah penguasaan standar kompetensi profesional guru, memahami status dan perannya sebagai guru, menguasai kaidah ilmu sosiologi beserta berbagai konsep pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan mata pelajaran sosiologi dan kurikulum yang berlaku, membangun interaksi sosial-edukatif terhadap peserta didik, serta mengikuti program sertifikasi guru, pendidikan profesi guru, atau musyawarah guru mata pelajaran guna meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru sebagai pendidik. Guru yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini adalah guru yang ditugaskan secara formal untuk mengampu mata pelajaran sosiologi di SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi profesional guru sosiologi di SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta melalui gambaran realitas proses pembelajaran sosiologi di SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta dan upaya guru sosiologi SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesionalnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Lokasi penelitian ini bertempat di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri 79 Jakarta yang berlokasi di Jalan Menteng Pulo Ujung, Kelurahan Menteng Atas, Kecamatan Setiabudi, Jakarta Selatan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 12 orang informan, terdiri dari wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, 2 orang guru sosiologi, dan 9 siswa/i SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa kompetensi profesional guru sosiologi SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta masih rendah yang disebabkan oleh implementasi kompetensi profesional guru yang belum maksimal, adanya ketidaksesuaian antara perencanaan pembelajaran yang disusun dengan pelaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas, serta evaluasi pembelajaran yang kurang efektif. Pengaruhnya, realitas proses pembelajaran sosiologi di SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta tidak berlangsung dengan baik dan sosiologi menjadi sebuah pelajaran yang kurang menarik di mata siswa. Upaya peningkatan kompetensi profesional guru yang ada di SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta dilakukan melalui Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) dan seminar- seminar pendidikan. The professional competence of sociology teacher in the learning process referred to this research is the mastering of the professional competence standard of the teacher, understanding the status and role as teacher, mastering the rules of sociology along with the various learning concepts in accordance with the subjects of sociology and the applicable curriculum, building social-educative interaction to students, and following the teacher certification program, teacher professional education (PPG), or subject teachers group discussion (MGMP) to improve the professional competence of teachers as educators. Teachers referred to this research are teachers who are formally assigned to teach sociology subjects at SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta. This research aims to determine the professional competence of sociology teachers in SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta through the description of the reality of sociology learning process in SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta and sociology teacher efforts to improve their professional competence. The method used in this research is qualitative research method. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. The location of this research is located at Senior High School (SMA) Negeri 79 Jakarta, at Jalan Menteng Pulo Ujung, Menteng Atas, Setiabudi, South Jakarta. Subjects in this research amounted to 12 people informants, consisting of vice principal curriculum, 2 sociology teachers, and 9 students of SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta. Based on the results of this research, showed that the professional competence of sociology teacher of SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta is still low due to the implementation of professional competence of teachers who have not maximized, the existence of discrepancies between the lesson planning prepared with the implementation of learning in the classroom, and less effective learning evaluation. The influence, the reality of the sociology learning process at SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta did not go well and sociology became a less interesting lesson in the eyes of the students. The efforts to improve the professional competence of teachers in SMA Negeri 79 Jakarta are conducted through Subject Teachers Group Discussion (MGMP) and educational seminars.
