Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dari tulisan siswa berupa proses penyelesaian soal cerita setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran reflektif, dengan memaparkannya melalui mendeskripsikan pola pikir matematis, peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dari tulisan siswa, dan peran model pembelajaran reflektif terhadap pembelajaran matematika. Model reflektif merupakan salah satu cara mengakomodir proses berpikir siswa secara individu dalam mengomunikasikan pemahaman. Ada lima tahapan menerapkan model ini di kelas, yaitu tahapan mengaitkan pengetahuan awal, diskusi, refleksi materi, penarikan kesimpulan, dan menulis jurnal pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas di SMP swasta kelas IX Jakarta Barat dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan cara memberikan tes berupa soal cerita, lembar jurnal, lembar refleksi, catatan lapangan, rekaman video, wawancara siswa, wali kelas, dan kepala sekolah. Analisis tes siswa menggunakan rubrik kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis secara bertahap dari diterapkannya model pembelajaran reflektif. Dilihat dari nilai rata-rata hasil tes akhir siklus, kemampuan siswa meningkat menjadi 86 pada siklus III. Jika dibandingkan dengan nilai rata-rata tes akhir siklus I sebesar 71 dan siklus II sebesar 83. Peningkatan tersebut telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan tindakan yang telah ditetapkan, yaitu 75. Secara deskriptif, hasil tersebut dibuktikan dengan semakin berkembang penjabaran jawaban subjek penelitian, mulai dari menyatakan suatu situasi soal cerita secara visual, menuliskan informasi yang diketahui dan ditanyakan, menuliskan model matematika, menuliskan penjelasan dari analisis proses penyelesaian soal cerita disertai penjelasan strategi penyelesaian yang logis, dan menuliskan informasi akhir untuk memperjelas dari angka yang diperoleh dari hasil penyelesaian. Reflective Learning model is one of ways to accomodate thinking process and communicate students’ understanding individually. This research is aimed to improve students’ mathematical communication skills and writings in the form of solving story problems by applying reflective learning model, the elaboration covers (1) the description of students’ mathematical way of thinking and the improvement of mathematical communication competences from students’ writings, and (2) knowing the role of reflective learning model to students’ learning process and mathematical communication competence. Mathematical communicative competence indicators are the indicator to elaborate story problem into Mathematical language and write evaluation. Research method being used is classroom action research in private junior high school of class IX in West Jakarta using qualitative model approach. Researcher gathered the data by giving story problems test, journal sheet, reflection sheet, observation note, video recording, students’ interview, homeroom teachers’ interview, and headmaster’s interview. The data analysis was carried in qualitative and quantitative descriptions. Researcher used data triangulation in order to get valid data. Students’ test analysis used mathematical communication rubrics. Result of research showed improvement in students’ mathematical communication competence gradually by applying reflective learning model. It can be seen from the average score of the final test in first cycle was 71 and second cycle was 83. The improvement has reached success indicators of predefined actions. Decriptively, the result was proven by the improvement of participants’ elaboration starting from stating situation of story problem visually, writing information being known and asked, writing Mathematical model, writing explanation from analytical problem solving process of story problem in every step with the a logical explanation of completion strategy being used, and writing the final information to clarify the figures obtained from the results of the problem solving of the problem.
