Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penutupan pertambangan timah terhadap perubahan mata pencaharian penambang timah rakyat yang dialami oleh masyarakat dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya di Kecamatan Merawang, Kabupaten Bangka, Provinsi Bangka Belitung. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari Bulan September–November tahun 2016. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh penambang timah rakyat di Kecamatan Merawang dengan jumlah 668 orang. Pengambilan sampel dengan purposive random sampling berjumlah 87 orang responden yang terbagi menjadi pemilik pertambangan timah rakyat, mandor pertambangan timah rakyat dan buruh pertambangan timah rakyat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif dengan pendekatan survei. Pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam waktu 3 tahun terakhir, terjadi perubahan pada jenis pekerjaan yang dialami oleh responden yaitu karena penutupan pertambangan timah rakyat secara besar–besaran yang dilakukan oleh pihak Pemerintah. Responden yang menjadi adalah pemilik pertambangan timah rakyat beralih mata pencaharian mayoritas menjadi wiraswasta atau pedagang sebanyak 50%. Kemudian mandor pertambangan timah rakyat yang beralih mata pencaharian mayoritas ke bidang pertanian/perkebunan dan buruh pasir sebanyak masing–masing 36%. Dan buruh pertambangan timah rakyat mayoritas beralih mata pencaharian ke bidang pertanian/perkebunan sebanyak 43%. Tetapi dari perubahan mata pencaharian yang terjadi, adanya dampak yang cukup signifikan terhadap tingkat kepuasan terhadap pekerjaan baru yang dialami oleh responden yaitu terjadi penurunan sebesar 63%. Dan juga terjadi penurunan pada pendapatan responden setelah terjadinya perubahan mata pencaharian yaitu sebesar 16%, dalam hal ini pendapatan merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam kehidupan sehari–hari responden. Serta ada 11% responden yang belum mendapatkan pekerjaan baru atau pengangguran. Dengan demikian terlihat bahwa adanya dampak dari perubahan mata pencaharian yang dialami oleh penambang timah rakyat di Kecamatan Merawang. This study aims to determine the impact of the closure of the tin mines to changes in the livelihood of miners experienced by people in their daily lives in the District Merawang, Bangka, Bangka Belitung Province. This study was start from September to November 2016. The population of this research is all the people in the District of tin miners Merawang with the number of 668 people. Purposive sampling with random sampling amounted to 87 people, divided into people's owner tin mining, tin mining foreman folk and folk tin mining workers. The research method used descriptive survey. The collection of data through questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that within the last 3 years there is a change in the type of work experienced by respondents, due to the closure of the tin mining folk massively conducted by the Government. Respondents who becomes the owner of the tin mining livelihoods of the majority of the people turning into entrepreneurs or merchants as much as 50% of the entire number of the owner of the tin mining folk. Tin miners status foreman switched livelihoods of the majority to agriculture/ plantation labor and sand as much as 36% respectively. Tin miners as laborers, the majority of switch livelihood to agriculture/plantation as much as 43%. But the livelihood of changes that occurred, the existence of a significant impact on the level of satisfaction with the new work experienced by respondents, a decline of 63%. And also a decline in the income of respondents after the change of livelihood that is equal to 16%, in which case the income is one important factor in the everyday life of respondents. And there are 11% of respondents who do not get a new job or unemployment. Thus it appears that the impact of occupational changes experienced by the people in the District of tin miners Merawang.
