Abstract
Mangrove merupakan seluruh anggota vegetasi hutan pantai tropis yang mampu hidup pada daerah pasang surut air laut sekaligus menjadi ekosistem utama yang memiliki manfaat segi ekologis dan ekonomi serta memegang peranan penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan siklus biologis. Ekosistem mangrove umumnya dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat pesisir dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan hidup. Masyarakat pesisir seharusnya memiliki persepsi yang baik tentang manfaat ekosistem mangrove sehingga memiliki kesadaran yang tinggi pula terhadap konservasi ekosistem mangrove. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan persepsi masyarakat pesisir tentang manfaat ekosistem mangrove dengan kesadaran konservasi ekosistem mangrove. Penelitian ini dilakukan di desa Pantai Bahagia, kecamatan Muara Gembong, Bekasi pada bulan Mei – Juni 2017. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif studi korelasional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Simple Random Sampling sebanyak 80 kepala keluarga yang terdapat di RT 3,4,dan 5 di RW 2, Dusun 1. Uji Prasyarat menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Persamaan regresi yang diperoleh adalah Ŷ = 34,417 + 1,087X. Koefisien korelasi yang diperoleh sebesar 0,701 yang berarti terdapat hubungan yang tinggi. Pada penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara persepsi masyarakat pesisir tentang manfaat ekosistem mangrove dengan kesadaran konservasi ekosistem mangrove. Koefisien determinasi yang didapatkan sebesar 0,491, sehingga variabel persepsi memiliki kontribusi terhadap variabel kesadaran konservasi sebesar 49% dan 51% lainnya berasal dari faktor lain. Mangroves are all members of tropical coastal forest vegetation that can live in tidal areas of sea water as well as a major ecosystem that has ecological and economic benefits and plays an important role in maintaining the biological cycle balance. Mangrove ecosystem is generally utilized by coastal communities in the fulfillment of life needs. Coastal communities should have a good perception of the benefits of mangrove ecosystems so that they have a high awareness of the conservation of mangrove ecosystems. This study aims to determine the relation of coastal community perception about the benefits of mangrove ecosystem with conservation awareness of mangrove ecosystem. This research was conducted in the village of Happy Beach, Muara Gembong sub-district, Bekasi in May - June 2017. The method used is descriptive correlational study. Sampling was done by Simple Random Sampling technique as much as 80 family heads in RT 3.4, and 5 in RW 2, Dusun 1. The Prerequisite test showed normal and homogenous distribution data. The regression equation obtained is Ŷ = 34.417 + 1.087X. The correlation coefficient obtained is 0.701 which means there is a high correlation. In this study it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between the perception of coastal communities on the benefits of mangrove ecosystem conservation awareness of mangrove ecosystem. Coefficient of determination obtained for 0.491, so that the perception variable has a contribution to the conservation awareness variable of 49% and 51% others derived from other factors.
