Abstract
Penelitian bertujuan untuk melakukan penyambungan serat optik dengan menggunakan metode fusion splicing dan menguji link serat optik terhadap peningkatan loss di link serat optik Kranggan-Pondok Gede agar dapat mencapai nilai total loss link serat optik sesuai standarisasi perusahaan yaitu 5,05 dB. Loss standarisasi yang digunakan oleh PT. Telkom antara lain fiber loss 0,25 dB, connector loss 0,5 dB dan splice loss 0,2 dB serta data kondisi link serat optik ruas Kranggan-Pondok Gede memiliki jarak 10,61 km dengan dua buah konektor dan tujuh buah sambungan maka, didapatkan total loss link 5,05 dB. Penelitian dilaksanakan di PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk divisi regional 2, Witel Jakarta Timur, Operational and Maintenance Transport pada bulan Agustus – Desember 2014. Metode fusion splicing merupakan teknik penyambungan serat yang bersifat permanen dengan cara memanaskan ujung serat dan menggunakan bagian dari serat itu sendiri sebagai perekatnya. Rugi-rugi daya sambungan oleh splicer (mesin penyambung) menggunakan metode visual sehingga analisis data sambungan didasarkan pada teori kopling. Penyambungan dilakukan terhadap serat optik singlemode 1,31 µm dengan tipe kabel G.652 struktur kabel bawah tanah tanam di duct (indirect burial). Rugi-rugi daya sambungan pada penyambungan ini akan dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, ketidaksesuaian MFD (Mode Field Diameter), pergeseran lateral (lateral misalignment) dan kesalahan penyejajaran sudut (angular misalignment) merupakan salah satu faktor tersebut. Pengukuran dalam penelitian ini dilakukan sebelum dan setelah perbaikan penyambungan dengan mengukur besar total loss link serat optik ruas Kranggan�Pondok Gede menggunakan OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) Yokogawa AQ7275. Dari hasil penelitian penyambungan serat optik ruas Kranggan-Pondok Gede dengan menggunakan metode fusion splicing telah berhasil diterapkan dan diuji. Disimpulkan bahwa setelah perbaikan penyambungan serat optik dapat mencapai nilai total loss link serat optik sesuai standarisasi perusahaan yang ditetapkan sebesar 5,05 dB, didapat rata-rata nilai total loss link serat optik ruas Kranggan-Pondok Gede 4,312 dB. *This research has a purpose to do a fiber optic spliced with using fusion splicing method and testing fiber optic link increasing of loss in link fiber optic Kranggan-Pondok Gede in order to can get a total value of link loss in fiber optic with the standardization of those company is 5,05 dB. The standardization loss used by PT. Telkom is fiber loss 0,25 dB, connector loss 0,5 dB and splice loss 0,2 dB and the data condition of fiber optic link Kranggan-Pondok Gede has a distance 10,61 km with two connectors and seven splice joints, then got loss link total 5,05 dB. The research was did at PT. Telecommunications Indonesia, Tbk regional division 2, Witel East Jakarta, Operational and Maintenance Transport in August to December, 2014. Fusion splicing method is a connection permanent fibers technique by heating the fiber tip and using part of that fiber as the adhesive. Splice loss by splicer (connector machine) uses visual method in consequence analysis data connection is based on the coupling theory. The fusion was did at fiber optic single-mode 1,31 µm cable type G.652 within structure underground cable in duct (indirect burial). Splice loss in this spliced effected of many factors. Mismatched MFD (Mode Field Diameter), lateral misalignment and angular misalignment are one of the factor. Measuring in this study does before and after of repairing splice with measure large total loss link fiber optic Kranggan-Pondok Gede using OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) Yokogawa AQ7275. From the research of splicing fiber optic link Kranggan-Pondok Gede uses fusion splicing method has been successfully implemented and tested. Already concluded that after the repair, the optical fiber splicing can up to total value loss link fiber optic agree with the standardization of company was set as large as 5,05 dB, obtained an average total value loss link optical fiber Kranggan-Pondok Gede 4,312 dB.
