Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang mendalam mengenai religiusitas dalam novel La Religieuse karya Denis Diderot dengan menganalisis kutipan kalimat dalam cerita di novel tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan objek yang diteliti yakni novel La Religieuse karya Denis Diderot. Analisis dilakukan dengan memaparkan unsur-unsur intrinsik karya sastra yaitu alur, tokoh dan latar. Tahap berikutnya yaitu mengidentifikasi dan menginterpretasikan aspek religiusitas yang berbentuk kutipan kalimat-kalimat dalam sumber data sesuai dengan teori dimensi religiusitas yaitu dimensi ritual, dimensi doktrin, dimensi moral serta dimensi komunitas menurut teori dari Georghiu. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 32 kutipan kalimat yang mencerminkan religiusitas. Kategori dimensi ritual memiliki jumlah terbanyak yaitu 19 kutipan, diperoleh dari tuturan para tokoh yang ditunjukkan dengan perilaku berdoa, melakukan sakramen pengurapan, melakukan pengakuan dosa, melaksanakan misa, menyanyikan himne bersama, serta memperingati hari Kamis Putih. Selanjutnya dimensi doktrin terdapat 6 kutipan yang ditunjukkan dengan keyakinan para tokohnya pada Tuhan, keyakinan pada hari akhir dan adanya penghakiman setelah kematian serta meyakini ajaran agama yang dianut. Sementara dimensi moral terdapat 5 kutipan yang tercermin pada sikap dan perilaku tokoh-tokoh yang bertindak berdasarkan perintah agama seperti berbakti pada orang tua, bersikap pemaaf serta mengasihi sesama. Kategori terakhir yaitu dimensi komunitas dengan 2 kutipan ditunjukkan oleh peran tokoh dalam suatu lembaga keagamaan seperti ikut berpartisipasi pada perayaan keagamaan dan menjalankan aturan yang berlaku di lembaganya. This study aims to gain a deep understanding of religiosity in Denis Diderot's novel La Religieuse by analyzing the sentence quotations of the story in the novel. This essay is a descriptive qualitative research with the object under study which is novel La Religieuse by Denis Diderot. Analysis is done by exposing the intrinsic elements of literary works that are plot, figure and background. The next stage is identifying and interpreting aspects of religiosity in the form of excerpts of sentences in the data source in accordance with the theory of the dimension of religiosity which include four dimensions, there are the dimension of ritual, dimension of doctrine, moral dimension and community dimension according to the theory of Georghiu. The results of this study indicate that there are 32 sentence quotes that reflect religiosity. The category of ritual dimension has the highest number of 19 citations, obtained from the speech of the characters shown by the behavior of praying, performing the sacrament of anointing, confession, performing the mass, singing hymns together, and commemorate the White Thursday. Furthermore there are 6 quotations of the doctrinal dimension indicated by the confidence of his character to God, belief in the last day and the existence of judgment after death and believe in religious teachings adopted. While the moral dimension with 5 quotes that are reflected in the attitude and behavior of the characters who act on religious orders such as filial piety, being forgiving and loving others. The latter category is the community dimension with 2 quotes indicated by the role of the figure in a religious institution such as participating in religious celebrations and following the rules of the institution.
