Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pencarian jati diri pada tokoh utama dalam novel Sans Famille karya Hector Malot dengan menganalisis kutipan kalimat dalam cerita di novel tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan objek yang diteliti yakni novel Sans Famille karya Hector Malot yang dipusatkan kepada tokoh utama Rémi yang merupakan seorang anak laki-laki yang melakukan perjalanan untuk mencari jati dirinya. Analisis ini dilakukan dengan menunjukan tahapan perkembangan yang di alami tokoh utama berdasarkan teori Lacan yakni fase real, fase imajiner, dan fase simbolik. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa tokoh utama mengalami pencarian jati diri ditunjukan dengan terdapatnya 38 kutipan kalimat yang menggambarkan pencarian jati diri pada tokoh utama dalam novel Sans Famille karya Hector Malot dengan penjabaran 9 kutipan kalimat yang menggambarkan fase real, 22 kutipan kalimat yang menggambarkan fase imajiner, dan 7 kutipan kalimat yang menggambarkan fase simbolik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut diketahui bahwa setelah mengeksplorasi beberapa peran, Rémi akhirnya dapat mengetahui jati dirinya. This research describe the search for identity on main character in the novel Sans Famille by Hector Malot by analyzing citations sentences in the story in the novel. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with the object is novel Sans Famille by Hector Malot. We focused on the main character Rémi who is a boy who traveled in search of his true identity. This analysis showed the stages of development experienced by the main character, based on Lacan's theory that the real phase, the phase of the imaginary and the symbolic phase. The results of this study explains that the main character experiencing the search for identity is shown by the presence of 38 citations sentences that describe the search for identity on the main character in the novel Sans Famille by Hector Malot with . 9 citations sentences that describes the real phases, 22 citations sentences describing phase of the imaginary, and 7 citations sentences that describe the symbolic phase. Based on these results it is known that after exploring several roles, Rémi finally be able to know his true identity.
