Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana homoseksual direpresentasikan dalam fanfiction Out of My System oleh xxdevilishxx melalui narasi dan dialog. Penelitian ini membahas tentang representasi homoseksual dalam fanfiksi Out of My System. Fanfiksi sebagai bagian dari media massa, memiliki pengaruh bagi representasi isu-isu di masyarakat. Isi fanfiksi dapat mencerminkan isu terkini di masyarakat. Salah satu fanfiksi yang paling populer adalah fanfiksi homoseksual, oleh karena itu penulis memilih untuk menganalisis representasi fanfiksi homoseksual. Fanfiksi Out of My System adalah fanfiksi yang ditampilkan di halaman utama website fanfiksi selama satu bulan, karena itu penulis memilih fanfiksi ini sebagai data. Untuk melihat bagaimana fanfiksi Out of My System merepresentasikan homoseksual, penelitian ini menggunakan teori representasi Stuart Hall. Hasil dari analisis yang telah dilakukan adalah fanfiksi Out of My System merepresentasikan homoseksual sebagai hubungan menyimpang. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan penelitian ini, fanfiction Out of My System juga merepresentasikan begaimana homoseksual mengalami diskriminasi sosial dari masyarakat. Mereka juga menghadapi tanggapan negatif dari keluarga mereka karena keluarga mereka melihat hubungan mereka sebagai hubungan abnormal. This research discusses how homosexual is represented in Out of My System fanfiction by xxdevilishxx through the narrations and dialogues. This research is about representation of homosexual in the fanficition Out of My System. Fancfition, as part of mass media, has an influence to represents issues in society. The content of fanfiction reflects on the current issues in society. One of the most popular fanfiction is homosexual fanfictions, that’s why the writer chooses to analyse the representation of homosexual fanfiction. Fanfiction Out of My System is a fanfiction that is featured on the main page of fanfiction website for one month, because of that the writer chooses this fanfiction as the data.In order to see how the Out of My System fanfiction represents homosexual, this research used Stuart Hall’s representation theory. The results from the analysis that has been done, the Out of My System fanfiction represents homosexual as a deviant relationship. Furthermore, based on this research, Out of My System fanfiction also represents homosexuals experience social discrimination from the public. They also face the negative responses from their family because their family sees them are seen as an abnormal relationship.
