Abstract
This study aim is to find out the effect of assessment techniques and students physics anxiety toward basic physics II achievement. The method used was an experimental method using the treatment by level design of 2x2. The research hypotheses were tested using two way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The study concluded that: 1) the basic physics II achievement of students in group who assessed by portfolio is higher than a group of students who assessed by paper and pencil test, 2) there is an interaction effect between assessment techniques and students physics anxiety toward basic physics II achievement, 3) in a group student who have lower physics anxiety, the basic physics II achievement students who got portfolio assessed is higher than paper and pencil assessed, and 4) in a group student who have moderate physics anxiety, the basic physics II achievement students who got portfolio assessed is lower than paper and pencil assessed
