Abstract

Skripsi ini mengkaji tentang mode pakaian remaja wanita kalangan atas di Jakarta pada tahun 1950 hingga tahun 1972. Perubahan yang terjadi pada gaya hidup masyarakat remaja di Jakarta sejak tahun 1950 hingga 1972 memiliki perbedaan yang cukup drastis pakaian wanita beralih kepada mode mini. Perkembangan pakaian lebih mengarah kepada gaya hidup modern yang mengalami perubahan atau biasa dikenal dengan mode pakaian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah metode penelitian sejarah, langkah-langkahnya terdiri dari heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Tahap pertama yakni heuristik, yaitu peneliti mengumpulkan sumber. Sumber berdasarkan sifatnya terbagi menjadi dua sumber primer dan sumber sekunder. Sumber primer yang digunakan yaitu arsip, surat kabar, majalah sezaman. Sedangkan sumber sekunder berupa buku maupun jurnal yang diakses secara luring maupun daring. Setelah data terkumpul, lalu diverifikasi secara kritik intern maupun ekstern. Setelah mengetahui bahwa sumber itu autentik, maka selanjutnya diteliti apakah sumber tersebut dapat dipercaya. Selanjutnya peneliti melakukan interpretasi untuk menafsirkan berbagai sumber yang telah diuji kredibilitasnya. Kemudian peneliti menguraikan sumber yang telah diverifikasi berdasarkan analisis, kemudian disatukan. Tahap akhir yang dilakukan penulisan dalam bentuk skripsi. Penelitian ini disajikan secara deskriptif analisis dengan mendeskripsikan bagaimana proses perkembangan mode pakaian remaja wanita kalangan atas di Jakarta tahun 1950 – 1972. Kajian dalam skripsi ini membahas mode pakaian remaja wanita kalangan atas di Jakarta pada tahun 1950 – 1972. Mode pakaian termasuk kedalam bentuk gaya hidup seseorang yang mana pada tahun 1950 terjadinya pergeseran gaya hidup masyarakat urban di Jakarta. Para pendatang yang menetap di Jakarta mengubah diri mereka untuk menyesuaikan lingkungannya. Mode berpakaian dan penampilan remaja di Jakarta pada tahun 1950 – 1972 banyak dipengaruhi oleh budaya barat, tentunya hal ini akan berdampak pada perubahan kehidupan masyarakat Jakarta menuju modernisasi. Gaya berpakaian remaja wanita di Jakarta mengalami perubahan dari yang mulanya mode pakaian pada tahun 1950 yaitu kebaya kemudian berkembang menjadi rok dan bouse. Lalu mode pakaian pada tahun 1960-an yaitu blouse dan dress juga adanya mode gapat dan mode slack. Kemudian ditahun 1972 dikenal dengan gaya berpakaian yaitu penggunaan mode mini, seperti rok mini, dress mini juga adanya berbagai macam mode celana seperti celana cutbray dan celana palazzo yang terkenal pada tahun tersebut. ***** This thesis examines the fashion young women elite in Jakarta from 1950 to 1972. Changes that occurred in the lifestyle of the teenage community in Jakarta from 1950 to 1972 had quite a drastic difference in women's clothing switching to mini fashion. The development of clothing is more directed to a modern lifestyle that is undergoing changes or commonly known as clothing fashion. The research method used in this study is a historical research method, the steps consist of heuristics (source collection), source criticism (verification), interpretation, and writing (historiography). The first stage is heuristics, where the researcher collects sources. Sources based on their nature are divided into two primary sources and secondary sources. Primary sources used are archives, newspapers, contemporary magazines. While secondary sources are books and journals that are accessed offline and online. After the data is collected, then it is verified internally and externally. After knowing that the source is authentic, it is further investigated whether the source can be trusted. Next, the researcher interprets to interpret various sources that have been tested for credibility. Then the researcher describes the sources that have been verified based on the analysis, then put them together. The final stage is writing in the form of a thesis. This research is presented in a descriptive analysis by describing how the process of fashion development of elite women's clothing in Jakarta from 1950 to 1972. The study in this thesis discusses the fashion of clothing for young women elite in Jakarta in 1950 – 1972. Fashion clothing is included in the form of a person's lifestyle which in this period there is a shift in lifestyle in urban society in Jakarta. The urbanization who settled in Jakarta changed themselves to suit their environment. Usually they adjust in terms of lifestyle, namely in fashion. For example, the fashion and appearance of teenagers in Jakarta in 1950 – 1972 was heavily influenced by western culture, of course this would have an impact on changing the lives of the people of Jakarta towards modernization. The style of dress for young women in Jakarta from 1950 to 1972 changed from what was originally a fashion for teenage girls in 1950, namely the kebaya, then developed into a skirt and a bouse. Then the fashion of clothing in the 1960s, namely blouses and dresses, also had gapat and slack modes. Then in 1972 it was known for its style of dress, namely the use of mini fashion, such as mini skirts, mini dresses, as well as various types of pants such as cutbray pants and palazzo pants which were famous that year.
