Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan sosial ekonomi masyarakat dan dampak hadirnya industri garmen di Desa Gemulung, Kecamatan Pecangaan Kabupaten Jepara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu warga Desa Gemulung yang terdiri dari 2 informan kunci dan 5 informan inti. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: Sosial ekonomi masyarakat berubah setelah hadirnya industri garmen, perubahan ini dapat dilihat dari, perubahan komposisi penduduk yang lebih beragam, terganggunya kesehatan masyarakat karena pencemaran udara yang berasal dari limbah batu bara industri garmen, terdapat peningkatan tingkat lulusan pendidikan pada masyarakat Desa Gemulung, terjadi perubahan mata pencaharian dan peningkatan pendapatan pada warga Desa Gemulung, lingkungan pemukiman warga menjadi kotor dan tercemar, terdapat pula penurunan angka kemiskinan, dan adanya masalah sosial seperti masalah lalu lintas yang ramai dan perubahan interaksi masyarakat. Selain itu adanya industri garmen ini membawa dampak positif dan negatif bagi Desa Gemulung, dampak positif dari industri garmen ini berkaitan dengan peningkatan ekonomi, sedangkan dampak negatif berkaitan dengan pencemaran lingkungan ***** This study aims to determine changes in the socio-economic of the community and the impact of the presence of the garment industry in Gemulung Village, Pecangaan District, Jepara Regency. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods, data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The subjects of this study were the residents of Gemulung Village which consisted of 2 key informants and 5 core informants. The results of this study indicate that: The socio-economic conditions of the community have changed after the presence of the garment industry, this change can be seen from changes in the composition of the population that are more diverse, disruption of public health due to air pollution from coal waste of the garment industry, there is an increase in the level of education graduates in Indonesia. Gemulung Village community, there is a change in livelihoods and an increase in income for Gemulung Village residents, the residential environment becomes dirty and polluted, there is also a decrease in poverty, and social problems such as busy traffic problems and changes in community interaction. In addition, the garment industry has positive and negative impacts on Gemulung Village, the positive impact of the garment industry is related to economic improvement, while the negative impact is related to environmental pollution.
