Abstract

The availability of learning materials online is one of the significant benefits of ICT advancement in education. However, this benefit comes along with the challenges of selecting materials with appropriate content. For this reason, this study aimed to describe the content presented on the MyEnglishStep.com website for eighth-grade junior high school students and analyze its content feasibility based on the criteria proposed by the National Educational Standards Agency (Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan/ BSNP). The study utilized qualitative content analysis as its research methodology to analyze 172 digital learning materials found on the MyEnglishStep.com website (MES) collected from 13 units for eighth-grade junior high school students. The data were analyzed using two different checklist tables; constructed by the researcher by adapting the Basic competence (Kompetensi Dasar/KD) in the English Syllabus of the 2013 Curriculum and adapting BSNP’s textbook evaluation rubric. The results show that MES is relevant and feasible for use by eighth-grade junior high school students. The study shows that 87% (very good) of materials provided on MES are relevant to the KD (Kompetensi Dasar), which means the whole units in the MES for eighth-grade students are relevant to the KD. As for the score of content feasibility analysis, 83% (very good) indicates that the content of MES also fulfilled the requirements of the 2013 Curriculum. *********** Ketersediaan bahan ajar dalam jaringan merupakan salah satu manfaat signifikan kemajuan TIK dalam pendidikan. Namun, manfaat ini datang bersamaan dengan tantangan dalam memilih materi dengan konten yang sesuai. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konten atau muatan yang disajikan pada laman MyEnglishStep.com (MES) untuk siswa kelas VIII SMP, dan menganalisis kelayakan kontennya berdasarkan kriteria yang diajukan oleh Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan (BSNP). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis konten secara kualitatif dengan menganalisis konten/muatan dari 172 materi pembelajaran digital yang ditemukan di laman MyEnglishStep.com yang dikumpulkan dari 13 unit untuk siswa kelas VIII SMP. Data penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan dua tabel yang berbeda; dibuat oleh peneliti dengan mengadaptasi Kompetensi Dasar (KD) dalam Silabus Bahasa Inggris Kurikulum 2013 dan mengadaptasi rubrik evaluasi buku teks BSNP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa MES relevan dan layak digunakan oleh siswa kelas VIII SMP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 87% materi (sangat baik) yang tersedia di MES sesuai dengan KD (Kompetensi Dasar), hal tersebut berarti bahwa seluruh unit dalam MES untuk siswa VIII relevan dengan KD. Adapun skor analisis kelayakan isi adalah 83% (sangat baik) yang menunjukkan bahwa isi MES juga memenuhi persyaratan Kelayakan Isi oleh Kurikulum 2013
